Has anyone tried fishing for sharks at Lido Beach in Sarasota?
I vacation down there quite often and im going to try to shark fish. Im just really not sure if it is a good spot or what fish are there. If anyone has any info, let me know.

Would this work for shark fishing?
It only has 22 pounds of drag. I just assume I cant land a big shark with that little of drag.

Help with deciding line
I just bought this Okuma Surf 8k for shark. It can hold 710 yards of 50lb braid. I am not sure if 50lb line is enough for shark fishing though. Im not going for anything colossal though. Should I prioritize capacity or strength? Also, I chose this over a Daiwa BG 6500. Was that a stupid decision?

I need a Shark spinning combo
Im not going after anything huge. I just need something that will get the job done. Ive been looking at Penn reels and are mainly my preference. I was looking at the Penn Pursuit and Ugly Stik combo. Im just not sure if the 8000 with 25lb of drag is enough.

Was this a good beginner reel?
I just bought this as my fish baitcaster. It is a Shimano 24 SLX 71XG. I figured it would be a waste of time to buy a cheap reel and figure it out. Also, I would appreciate cheap rod recommendations.

Should I be able to catch Tarpon?
Hello. I am going to the beach next week and want to try to catch some Tarpon from the beach. I have a Shimano Stradic 4000 FM with 30lb braided line. Ill probably use soft plastics and I would appreciate recommendations on what to use. Thanks!
