Frozen yogurt?

I live in the village. Every frozen yogurt place has a line around the block every evening or weekends around the clock. It started with a few new spots in the neighborhood (a couple around 7th and Perry, one on University and 12th) but recently in the last week or so, it’s *every single place* even older establishments.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 15 years and I don’t understand the sudden obsession with frozen yogurt. Yeah it’s good, it’s hot out, but ice cream or gelato places aren’t drawing these crowds.

Can someone fill me in?

Thanks

Third Eye Blind cover band

I’m a bassist looking to start a 3eb cover band. Or at least, a cover band with 3eb at its core.

I know many of Salazar’s bass lines by heart and I do my best to be true to his tone and articulation where possible. I wouldn’t consider myself a super fan of 3eb but I would love to play their first album start to finish as a setlist. A goal of gigging around NYC.

What I’m looking for:

- every other instrument and a singer that does a decent Jenkins
- willingness to let the songs open and breathe a bit. Adding extended solos, intros, etc., but still sound accurate to the original recordings regarding tone and effects.
- practice once a week or every other week. Either within Manhattan or ~30 min from Manhattan by subway.
- wants to jam on non 3eb stuff too

Thanks!

My 1975 Fender P Bass

I have many basses but I always come back to this one. Absolute tone monster that handles every genre I need to cover.

Got it in 2009 for $1500-ish with the original hard shell case. Never letting this thing go.

SansAmp BDDI or Darkglass Vintage Deluxe V3? (for folks that have used both)

Looking for a good DI box that’ll give my P bass some classic / vintage drive. I have the Darkglass and it sounds excellent but a tad thin when blending in the drive. If I try to give it more body with the EQ it quickly goes to mud but that may be user error more than anything.

Has anyone used both of these boxes / can comment on their experiences with them?

Thanks!

How to jam along with Apple Music? Running Phil Jones Double 4 into Volt 176 as input/output for Mac. Bass volume is way too low compared to Mac OS

I’m trying to get a good setup to practice when I need to use headphones at home. That’s it — no recording, just high fidelity jamming to recorded music or Moises.

Chain goes (with volume %):

  1. Bass (100%)
  2. Phil Jones Double 4 line out (50% input/master)
  3. Volt 176 (50% gain, “Direct” enabled)
  4. Mac OS (no control over volume with the Volt as output)

The bass monitoring is purely through the Volt, Mac OS just provides sound from Apple Music or Moises.

The input chain looks healthy, just under the yellow zone. Bass is at 100%, and I can’t increase the volume any more from the PJ or the Volt. Things will start to clip.

But the Mac OS output volume dominates the input signal from the bass. Right now my solution is downloading eqMac and reducing the Mac OS output volume to like 10%. If I only reduce the volume in Apple Music or Moises, notifications and other sounds from my Mac will blow my ears out.

Is there a native way to do this without eqMac or a similar program?

Thanks!
