I just purchased a fuel pump hanger from MR2 Chop Shop… I placed the order on June 30th and I haven’t even gotten a notification that a shipping label has been made… I am aware that one person manages this website and maybe he’s catching up from the holiday… but, has anyone used this service before and what was their experience.
This is my pretty dirty and rusty sending unit… I don’t think it’s salvageable with all the issues… just wanted Reddit’s professional opinion before I blow a shit load of money on a new one, or if anyone knows anything about retrofitting the AE86 sending unit since that’s cheaper than the sw20 one
Weird after the fact thing… it seems I am getting a reading when the float arm touches the bracket because the rubber boot snapped off… it reads about 137 ohms of resistance… so there’s a chance this could be restored, not too sure about the cracked thingy tho
Finally got the fuel tank out… it’s very dirty inside and the fuel pump hanger/fuel sending unit are both pretty rusty and corroded… any advice? Should I try and salvage/ clean the components or completely replace them? Also I couldn’t see inside the tank very well because it’s half full of fuel, but based on how shit was flaking off of the sending unit and pump hanger, I’m guessing it’s gonna need a good cleaning/restoration… as of now the only new part I have for this is the fuel pump/strainer…

Hey yall, I’ve got a 2022 N-Line, at 93783 miles… this is a minor issue as I’ve just been fixing her up here and there, only thing I’ve ever replaced on the car is a sensor really early on, like 20-30k miles… wondering what could be the possibility reason this window moves so slow compared to all the others… bad window regulator?, faulty fuse?, I’m guessing it has something to do with the window not receiving enough power as it’s been doing this for like 40k miles and hasn’t broken, there was only 1 time at ab 80k that the window would not go back up, but a quick restart of the car fixed that. The video is a comparison of the driver side which works perfect vs the passenger… Thanks for your help!

This is the continuation of my last post here trying to diagnose why the car cranks no start, but starts with starter fluid… The EFI fuse looks good no cracks at all… and I also replaced the fuel filter and while it was off turned the ignition on to see if any fuel came out… it did not, so my best guess is it’s worst case scenario and the fuel pump is either, not getting any power, or, not functioning at all… I REALLY did not want to have to drop the gas tank as I am on a time crunch to get this thing running… any tips on how to approach this? (Keep in mind I have no idea if the wires are corroded or if the fuel pump is broken…). My main concern is having to disconnect the radiator hoses and the AC lines… just seems like a ton of work for a gas tank… also, how do I test the voltage on the fuel pump to see if it’s getting power? Hi guys! I just purchased a 1992 MR2 yesterday and tried to get her started… did a fresh oil change put some nice gas in it with fuel system cleaner and a new battery, it cranks but no start… we used brake cleaner and shot it into the intake and she started up but not for long… so proves we have spark… I haven’t diagnosed whether its the fuel pump, fuel filter, injectors, etc. But has anyone else experienced issues before? Also the old fuel that was in it was varnished from sitting for 6 years, so I’m guessing the system might be a lil clogged from gunk, also before the new gas was put in the fuel gauge was on empty. I’m just hoping it’s not the fuel pump as I know that’s a nightmare to replace.
Ive been looking into getting an intake for my 2022 N-Line and I was trying to see if the intake boxes for the N had the same mounting points for the N-Line… my idea was to retrofit a intake box to the Forge Intake/inlet kit for the N-Line, to act as a heat shield as the Forge one does not come with one or a cone filter… or I can go DIY and create my own heat shield instead… not too sure what research is done on this and I’m also not sure what intakes from the i20N would fit if any… too bad SXTH doesn’t make their intake anymore. :(
