Is anyone else getting harassed by Eco Shield pest treatment company?

They've now come by my house 3 times (twice in the last 2 weeks) despite the fact that I've told them I'm not interested every time.

I also have a no soliciting sign that they keep ignoring. I basically just told the guy to fuck off and not come by my house again.

Is there anything I can do considering I have a no soliciting sign? Can I report them somewhere?

Does anybody know why Airlink flies two flights to JBO at the exact same time?

One is supposedly 10 minutes shorter.

Is one of these likely to get canceled?

This is a Sunday in February.

Bonvoy Benefits @ Veranda Resort Phuket

For those who are Platinum and have stayed at the Veranda Phuket - what are the benefits? Does platinum get free breakfast at this property?

I'm currently Gold but could make Platinum by the end of this year if I change one existing hotel reservation to a Marriott property and take a weekend stay or end up having another work trip, so I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to chase Platinum for my stay in Phuket. I'll be at the Veranda for a week in early 2027.

Edit: what's up with the downvotes? If you have an actual opinion how about you share it instead of just downvoting everyone for no reason.

Thai Airways - USA phone area code

https://preview.redd.it/fornwcn4x7dh1.png?width=1332&format=png&auto=webp&s=3d18415795bd7d063d58a355ed5b75e8f8b79308

Does anyone know why Thai Airways has 967 as the country code for the US?

For Americans that have created an account on Thai Airways, did you choose this area or the standard +1? I see +1 assigned to Canada so should I just choose that option?

Update: Now it's showing up as +1. Weird.

Has anyone used Frankfurt's VIP transfer service to avoid passport control lines?

https://vip.frankfurt-airport.com/en/our-vip-services/our-vip-services.html#Transfer-tab

Flying DEN-FRA-PRG in September with a 3 hr connection and considering booking this service given how bad things have been at FRA this summer.

Curious if anyone has tried it and would recommend. I think it's about $325 for 2 people.

I know United will rebook us if we miss our connection but I would really like to avoid that.

Edit: I was wrong about the cost. It's €545 for 1 person, €480 for each additional person.

Indoor video camera for travel with dogs

Does anyone have a good indoor travel video camera that you use when traveling with your pups?

Both of the ones I have tried using while traveling haven't worked because they require a password for the wifi network and either the hotel that we're staying at doesn't have a password or it has a login page to join the network.

Thanks!

Hotel suggestions for 1 night in Bangkok (female traveling solo)

Hi All,

I'm going to be in Bangkok for 1 night in February and struggling to decide on where to stay. I've searched the sub for recs but I'm still a bit overwhelmed by the options and how big Bangkok is. Since I only have about 24 hours my plan is to see as many tourist sites as possible.

My biggest concern is safety since I'm a female traveling solo.

Wishlist for the property:

  • Easy access to multiple lines of transit (or am I better off taking taxis or Thailand's version of uber?)
  • Roofdeck with good views
  • Nice, quieter area ideally near a park or greenery

Not worried about:

  • Lounges
  • Food
  • Bars or nightlife
  • Luxury rooms/suites - just need something decent that's clean
  • Pool since I won't have time to lay out

A couple of properties I'm considering right now because they seem like the best location wise are the Reneissance, the Athenee, Hotel Muse and the Courtyard.

I'm planning on using points for this and don't want to spend more than 45K points so the St Regis is out.

Is there any benefit to staying at someplace like the Sheraton Grande since it's near the Asok line?

I'm also considering Le Meridien but it doesn't look like it's on the BTS line that connects to the airport line.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Points redemption question

I'm looking at booking a trip using points but I'm 32,000 points short. If purchase the additional points and then have to cancel some reason, do I get those purchased points back in my account with the rest of my points balance?

And is $400 for 32,000 points a decent price?

I'm looking at booking the Westin in Bora Bora (5th night free redemption).

Thanks!

7 am flight out of GIG, how early to arrive?

7 am international flight out of GIG tomorrow morning (Tuesday). How early do we need to arrive?

Update for those wondering in the future: We left Copacabana at 4:30 on the dot and arrived at the airport at 4:52 am. We did not have bags to check so cannot speak to that (check in lines looked okay though). There was no security line and basically no line for passport control so we were through both at 5 am. Had plenty of time to walk around and get food. The international terminal is a little more spread out than I was expecting though.

Cheetah Outreach in Cape Town

Hi, I'm going back on safari in 2027 and planning to spend a few days beforehand in Cape Town.

Can anyone tell me if Cheetah Outreach in Cape Town is a legit organization working in conservation or do they exist just to make money off of the animals?

I've read very different things about them online so it's hard to tell what's true and what's not.

Cheetahs are my favorite so it would be a dream come true to be able to interact with one but obviously I don't want to contribute to anything that is unethical.

Thanks!

Why does the app show the option of paying $209 or using 20.9k miles when I look at the seat map but when I go to checkout I don’t have the option of using miles?

And when I go into the Upgrade trip the miles option is 25k and waitlist.
