PRP spring installed. (Test Video)

Installed the PRP spring kit in my Springfield Echelon comp and took it out for the first run. Definitely a noticeable change in the trigger feel.

After reading so many different reactions to the trigger feel etc. I don’t notice any negative trigger difference, break is the same. I was worried about that the most. “Mushy” trigger reset. Nope.

New pull weight 3.45 average. So good.

Highly recommend fellas.

Video. Filming a steel target session tomorrow with different drills. Follow if you want to see.

A little fun my C4X... love this thing.

I’m still pretty new to shooting. I’ve only been at it for about 3 months.

Golf has always been my biggest hobby, but I’m pretty sure shooting has officially become my new addiction. Every range session just makes me want to get back out there and improve.

My current goal is to keep building fundamentals and eventually compete in some USPSA matches. I’ve got a long way to go, but I’m really enjoying the learning process.

Two per side Drill (Echelon 4.5 comp)

I picked up shooting as a new hobby about 3 months ago, and I’m completely hooked.

Today was my first time doing any real movement while shooting, and I put together this short from the session.

My instructor decided to throw one of the hardest movement drills possible, in my mind anyways.

I was running my Springfield Echelon 4.5F Comp, and man… I love this gun. It shoots incredibly flat and just feels so clean. Definitely one of my favorite pistols to shoot.

Still have a lot to learn, but it’s been awesome seeing the progress already. Feedback is always welcome!

Bodyguard 2.0 short before my 1k review

This thing is absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to keep putting rounds through it.

So far I’ve got 400 rounds on the Bodyguard 2.0 Comp:

  • 300 rounds outdoors
  • 100 rounds indoors

It’s been a blast to shoot, and I’ll be doing a full in-depth review once I hit 1,000 rounds.

Also, I highly recommend the Gideon Pebble optic. It’s been fantastic so far. I paired it with a G-Code Stealth holster, and the setup has been excellent.
If you wish follow me on Youtube for the long review, I'll have it done in 2 days.

FDEZ Barrel or Stock for USPSA Limited optics (Need to replace my ported barrel)

Hey guys,

Need a new Barrel for my 4.5 Comp to qualify for Limited optics. Debating between the FDEZ barrel and the stock barrel from Springfield. I know years ago, they had fitting problems, but seems to have been worked out. My question is accuracy, how is it for those with it.

Thank you,

Added another to the EDC collection

Went with Gideon. Viridian was just not an option, too many things about it don’t work for me.

I’ll be doing a review on my YouTube channel soon.

My modded USPC - better than the Staccato C4X?

I honestly enjoy shooting it more, maybe its just because it was my first gun from 16+ years ago that I recently got back from Wright Armory, I love this thing, took ages to get back 14 weeks.

Youtube video - Did a short on it, check it out.

Top bullet damage when racking.

Ever since I got my Hellcat Pro back from Springfield after warranty work (they Cerakoted the slide), it’s been a completely different gun.

Racking the slide with a full 10-round magazine is insanely difficult, and seating a full magazine with the slide forward takes a serious slam. Before sending it in, I don’t remember it being anywhere near this bad.

I decided to do a little test. I put a Sharpie mark on the top of a round, chambered it, then disassembled the pistol. I found Sharpie residue on the striker sleeve, and it looked like some of the ink had been scraped off the top of the bullet.

I also chambered a live round (without firing it), removed it, and noticed a pretty noticeable gouge on the top of the bullet that seems to line up with the striker sleeve area.

Striker sleeve looks crooked, not sure if thats normal.

Has anyone seen something like this before? Is it normal for the striker sleeve to contact the top round, or could something have been installed or positioned incorrectly during reassembly?

Ink from the painted bullet

Striker sleeve looks crooked.

Scraped bullet

Is this normal in anyway?

Racking from closed Hellcat Pro (10round mag) issue?

Hey guys,

None of my other pistols do this. I don’t remember my Hellcat Pro being this hard to rack before I sent it to Springfield for the cosmetic warranty work (Cerakote). I had about 700 rounds through it before sending it in.

Now that it’s back, it’s noticeably harder to rack, especially with a full 10-round magazine. I can’t tell if I’m just misremembering how it felt before or if something changed during reassembly.

Check out the video and let me know what you think. Does this seem normal, or should I be concerned?

Pretty disappointed with Springfield Armory. Am I being unreasonable?

I own a Hellcat Pro and have been a big Springfield supporter. In the last 90 days alone I’ve purchased a Hellcat Pro, an Echelon 4.5, and as of this week, a Prodigy.

The issue:
When I got my Hellcat Pro, it seemed off. The finish on it was darker, patchy etc nothing like my brother’s, who bought one at the same time as me. I didn’t think much of it; it just looked off. Immediately after my 1st time holstering on the first go, on a totally loose retention holster, I got extreme holster wear on the finish. My brother was with me, stuck his gun in after me (ballsie) in and out 10-15x with no issues. I called Springfield, and they told me to send it in to get fixed. After 4 weeks of waiting, my pistol was returned with a painted replacement slide instead of the original Melonite finish. At no point before sending it in was I told that the replacement would be painted. If I had known that was how it was going to come back, I never would have sent my pistol in for the replacement. Painted Glossy black and super slippery.

I called customer service and explained that if I had known it was going to be painted glossy black, I would have just dealt with the blemishes and kept the gun as is. After a few calls and emails, I was told they would be willing to sell me a new slide for $70, but needed the entire gun to do the RMA.

The pistol went back to Springfield a second time, and after another couple of weeks without it, I got an email from the warranty department. The reduced-price replacement slide was no longer an option. Instead, I was told they’d send me back a standard-finish slide, and when I mentioned the agreement I’d previously been offered, I was simply told, “We don’t sell slides.”
That was the part that really bothered me. If Springfield doesn’t sell slides, why was that solution offered in the first place?

At this point, I’ve been without my pistol for nearly seven weeks between both trips. That’s a lot of time to be without my brand new gun.
This isn’t really about the $70. It’s about expectations. If I had been told on day one that the replacement would be painted and that buying another slide wasn’t an option, I would have simply declined the repair and kept my original pistol.

I’m not trying to bash Springfield. Some of the people there are actually very nice and professional. But the Warranty manager, not so much.
My frustration is with how the situation was handled and how the proposed resolution changed after I’d already committed to sending my pistol in.
Am I being unreasonable here, or would you be frustrated too?

C4X OWB a thing?

Hey fellas,

Sorry for the amateur question. I searched YouTube and Reddit but couldn’t really find much on this.

My question is: does anyone OWB a C4X in competition?

I ended up with the C4X because I have smaller hands and it felt better than the P4 HD. Plus it’s comped, so why not? Basically, it’s a full-size grip for me with a comp. 😝
I’ve really been wanting to try USPSA. It looks like a lot of fun.

What has me confused is that in pretty much every competition video I’ve watched, everyone seems to be using IWB holsters. I haven’t really come across anyone running a C4X in USPSA with an OWB setup, all seem to use IWB.

Is anyone here running the C4X in competitions? If so, what holster are you running? I have my heart set on the OVRT set up with mag carrier.

Thanks in advance!

Loving my new 4.5 comp

I wanted to share my recent mods to my Echelon 4.5 comp.

• New handle it grip. Honestly; love that brand.

• Tyrant trigger. I have a few tyrant triggers on various guns. By far and away blows my mind on this particular gun. So good. I have the PRP spring kit but I’m not sure I want to install it.

• Defender XL. Second Vortex optic I’ve purchased. Really can’t go wrong with this brand.

And well C4X premium is in its own class of greatness.

Question for tyrant trigger guys. (Mag catch)

Can one of you please check the mag catch and see if it looks like this? I saw a comment saying the mag catch that has cuts in it (I think for newer releases) won’t work with the trigger.

I’ve attached some photos.
If you have the Tyrant trigger and that same mag catch, let me know. This dudes comment stopped me on my tracks.

Echelon 4.5F comp added to collection

Hey fellas,

Great day today. Happy to share that I’ve added another one to the handgun collection. This will primarily be my USPSA gun.

Picked up the Echelon 4.5F Comp.

Got a pretty good deal on it considering we’re in California. Between sales tax and the excise tax, I was still able to get about 20% off.

It’s also the low-capacity version, which is a nice bonus. Not the California compliant model. Which I was happy with considering haha. 😆

Current lineup:

Latest: Echelon 4.5 Comp
•Tyrant trigger (coming soon)
•Vortex Defender XL optic

Hellcat Pro Comp
•M*Carbo titanium striker
•Tyrant trigger
•Tyrant extended magazine release
•Vortex Defender-CCW optic

HK USP Compact
•Wright Armory i-DOT optic cut
•Grayguns trigger
•Short reset system
•Holosun HE508T X2 optic

Staccato C4X Premium
•Trijicon RMR HD optic

Looking forward to getting some rounds through it.

New Holster retention seems super stiff.

Got a new Holster from GunfightersINC... really do love those guys, the quality of the 3 I got was amazing, but so far I've tested two guns. Seems to be hugging way too much.

What do you guys think? I had to pull out (LOL) pretty hard here.

(PS) In case anyone was wondering, no damage to the gun from this.

UPDATE: FIXED all the holsters, blow dryer did the trick. Great company and brand

Welcome me to your prestigious club ladies and gentlemen.
Installing RMR HD soon.

This thing is beautiful.

u/Combat_habibi — 4 months ago

Hi,

I’m picking up my C4X tomorrow and I’m pretty excited.

I received my RMR HD from EuroOptic yesterday, but it showed up in pretty rough shape. What surprised me more was when I called them, they said it was normal and that this is how Trijicon ships their optics because of the testing they do.

This isn’t my first optic, but it is my first Trijicon, so it caught me off guard. They did offer to replace it and try to find one in better condition.

Curious if others who’ve bought directly from Trijicon or dealers have had a similar experience?

I wanna bang up my own shit.

Thank you.
