Checkpoints every July 4th and NYE please
The most peaceful July 4th in Hoboken history
The most peaceful July 4th in Hoboken history
This might be the most parking I've ever seen in Hoboken aside from Christmas or Thanksgiving. Guess the checkpoints worked

How was it for July 4th at Pier A the last couple years?
I just got back from a few weeks long course, my DTS voucher was approved, but I found out after the fact that they dramatically cut down my reimbursement for airport parking from what I put, and yes the parking cost was already in the authorization THAT THEY APPROVED, leaving me owing hundreds of dollars on my GTCC that I have no money for.
I live over 2 hours from an airport with no taxi or uber options, my only choice was to park at the airport. Now they’re saying they only reimbursed the cost of a taxi? No idea how they decided what that cost is but it’s way less then it should be.
How can they go back on an expense they already approved in the authorization? I parked there and paid for parking based on them approving it, now they’re pulling the rug on me telling I have to to pay for it.
How long before this shows red on trackers somewhere before they’re forced to address it, and how long before they try to hit me with late fees or cancel the card? Theres no way I’m paying for an expense I was told (by the authorization being approved) was already covered
Looks like people actually were walking down Paterson Plank to MetLife (which is easy, safe, and all sidewalk), so Rutherford train station will suddenly closed without notice.
As I think back my time overseas, I can’t help but wonder how we would deal with the FPV drones that have come to dominate the conflict in Ukraine. Has technology really changed that much that what’s possible now with these wasn’t possible ten years ago, or even just five years ago? Doesn't seem that crazy advanced. Did we just get lucky no one thought of it then?
To that point, I can only think of those mega bases like Bagram being saturated with FPV drones striking daily, or flying into a landing C-17 full of soldiers. Surely our positions wouldve been completely untenable in 2026 warfare. Those bases feel insanely outdated looking back now with this new kind of war. We got out just in time.
My unit asked for volunteers to support an active duty mission for a few months. Since this won’t be a PCS I’m assuming they’ll provide housing at the location and also BAH for my home of record as this is a TDY? I’m aware if it’s a PCS all you get is BAH for duty location and you have to find your own housing
