I’m a first year coming to dartmouth this fall. I read the rolling stones article and since then I’ve been really stressed about dartmouth. I’m someone who doesn’t drink because of religious reasons and I’m not the type that parties everyday. I love the academic scene at dartmouth as well as how supportive alumni are. It also has the D plan which was a major standout to me. I wanna be part of a frat but not drink like crazy or do some weird shit to be part of one. Fizz majes it even worse cuz it feels like what Dartmouth is when its unfiltered. Can someone please properly explain the social scene here? I’ve heard the extreme ends of the spectrum and I’m just worried.

Ive seen alot of advice by teachers and people on reddit going around that to fight cambridge they should ask their family members and siblings to change boards. I do not support what Cambridge has done or is doing. But i also feel like its stupid to switch from an internationally recognised curriculum to local ones or under resourced ones like Pearson. What happened was unfair? Yes. Does it mean you should ruin your foreign University chances over it? No. Whether Cambridge acknowledges their mistakes or not, we need to be adaptable and mentally be prepared for these things to happen. I know it’s immensely unfair but its immensely stupid at the same time to switch exam boards as a way to protest. Yes alot of my papers were also affected but the threshold increasing by 3-4 marks does not mean the next coming gen shud just give up. Only thing is adaptability cuz then ur just hurting yourself. And I think Cambridge has learnt a lesson this series. Its very much possible they might just shift to printing papers on the day of the exam as a precautionary measure. But they will act

I’m genuinely so tired of this. Someone is using my photo (and a different name) and sending requests and dms to many people. I haven’t heard of any inappropriate dms but I feel like thats his next move. Im blocked so I cant report it to insta. All my friends and many ppl who followed that account also reported but insta took no action. Please tell me what to do?

Guys my friend is quite adamant on taking this combo. I’ve tried explaining to him that the workload will crush him considering how tough this could be. He says that alot of duke grads do this and its not that hard.

That left me wondering if its true because im going to Dartmouth and I’ve been suggested not to do this cuz its gonna cause my gpa to tank real bad and its going to ruin my social life.
Maybe its different at duke?
Can someone tell me if its true?

Guys I’m thinking about going into Economics and I’ve read tons of threads that rich nepo kids get internships and the better jobs. Im an international student on full aid and I feel like that might put me at a significant disadvantage.
What should i do?
I’m genuinely asking for advice which would improve my chances to not be an outcast there.

Guys i feel like the customer service might have not been updated with the special conditions under which cambridge operated this cie session. Cambridge cares alot about its global repute and if universities find out they lack integrity they cannot value Cambridge grades which makes cie lose alotta money. It cant be like this. “Hey give this exam and if u don’t do good just withdraw”
Its sounds stupid and improbable. Best case is to wait and see what statement they give in July (expecting one).
Im sure they have some form of safety mechanism for situations like these.

Its going to be 207-212 for an A*. For the first time papers weren’t leaked and no one is being awarded full marks in an entire question (this happened in 2025 where 2 qs got leaked and instead of cancelling papers Cambridge awarded full marks in those qs which increased the thresholds). I know many people who found p3 easy and p1 hard and vice versa. Hence a small sample size performing good in one/ bad in the other doesnt mean the thresholds will be as you predicted. Lastly Cambridge would most definitely factor in some degree of leniency as these papers were taken under special circumstances
