Advice wanted - I’m sick of these flare ups and being in pain.
Age 28, Female. Clear medical history, historical mild eczema.
I have previously had lip filler approx 3 years ago no issues, and recently had 0.5ml lip filler in March 2026.
5 days after the procedure I began getting spotted red bumps on my lips, sore, swollen, occasionally oozy, itchy & constant 7-8/10 pain.
I went to my Dr and received antibiotics, oral steroids, and antihistamines.
My Dr and injector both say yes this is an allergic reaction to the lip filler.
I had been tested for herpes virus and staph infection - both tests come back negative.
After 3 lots of painful flare ups since March, and rounds of medications I have now had the lip filler dissolved, but now exactly 1 week later all the symptoms are back again!
Am still currently taking a course of antibiotics and antihistamines. Using Bepanthen on lips as a lip balm per Drs recommendation.
