If only i could tell my younger self...

how much easier the first chapter is if you actually start investing lp from the getgo...

I always did the whole chapter 1 (including clearing pretty much the entire Khorinismap) without spending any lp apart from lockpicking and sneaking, since i could never decide which faction and playstyle to choose.

I distinctively remember the merc-fights and quests to be such a nightmare, while now they where a breeze.

What discoveries did you guys make over the years that would have made the game for your youngerself much easier if they knew?

Gothic 2 from Steam

Im a bit confused because the instructions in the wiki seem a bit older, so i have a few questions:

  1. Is it still necessary to use the workshop-beta branch to use the unionpack from the workshop or is that incorportated in the anniversary-edition?

  2. When i use stuff from the workshop, do i have to launch the game everytime from the modlauncher, or just once to make sure the mods are loading and then can just launch the game normally?

  3. The Gothic 2 Classic mod from D36 on the workshop completely reverts the game to basegame right? so all the stats and contentchanges from the addon are reverted? only the bugfixes remain if i read it right?

  4. If i use the unionpack and the d36 mod at the same time, does the loadorder matter? Do they even work both at the same time of dioes one just overwrite the other?

Didn't expect this game to be so fun!

Ive tried Runescape once in the past but pretty quickly bounced off of it due to the open ended nature of the game and having no clue where to go or what to do.

After seeing some videos pop up on youtube about it i wanted to try again, but this time i really took my time and talk with every npc i met and really take it step by step...

And before i knew it i was playing like 6-Hour Sessions, learning how best to click on trees or that Runelite and Plugins really are the way to go.

Now ive completed every Quest that is in Free-to-Play, leveled a good bit of all the Skills i have access to (apart from Runecrafting...) and generally come to appreciate the laid back nature of the game. That i can just come on, level a bit and then go off again without much off a hassle or lengthy preperation needed.

Still super confused about some systems and mechanics but very much looking forward to playing more in the future!

TLDR: Point&Click-Game with "Numbers go up" as its primary gameplay is unexpectedly fun if you take your time!

EDIT: Did not expect my UI to be such a hotly contested topic :D I knew i wanted to have the chatbox in the middle for easier reading since thats where the majority of text and dialog seems to appear and just worked my way from that.

I originally wanted to have the minimap in the bottom left but it seems you cant mirror it, so the orbs would be on the wrong side for me. If anyone knows a way to mirror it, let me know!
