Help with pain and other questions

I have ibs c and ate some potato chips a few weeks ago they started this problem. I feel like it tore in different spots the past several weeks because it hurts in several different spots it hurts to stand walk and sit.

I’m using diltiazem with lidocaine which seems to help a little bit as far as the muscle spasms go before the past week with this newest tear towards the top I feel like it’s not helping as much and I need a whole lot of it for example the package says to use a Pea size amount twice a day I’ve been using more than a piece size and applying at nearly 5 times a day and I’m close to running out I got this refill from a prescription several months ago and I’m not even seen that same Gastro anymore so I can’t get the refill from him.

It still hurts when I apply it though touching the area seems to make it hurt and aggravate it more I bought calmoseptine but it doesn’t seem to be helping all that much.

Is there any other ointments that you guys used to help with the pain down there especially something that can maybe numb the area almost like the way Orajel can numb toothaches?

I also had some pain when the poop was coming out towards the end in the lower left and pelvic area is this normal?

I’m also using MiraLAX every day and the stool is relatively soft with the exception of the first piece that comes out although that one is also soft it initially still hurts as it’s trying to come out I’m applying oil and the rash cream which helps a little bit but not enough

Ibs-c - how were you able to get meds? Did you have inflammation in your colon?

I’ve had ibs since I was 17 and it seems to have gotten worse since last year oct.

I’ve seen 4 gastros and none have prescribed me any meds or willing to do any tests beyond a sigmoidoscopy which I can’t do because I currently have an anal fissure.

How do some of you get meds like linzess?

Did you have any inflammation in your colon?

One dr told me ibs doesn’t cause inflammation in the colon the way ibd does so meds aren’t needed. Lifestyle changes and more fiber is usually good enough.

I also find not all the poop comes out sometimes

So far aside from bloating mostly lower left and lower left tenderness, I also have gurgling and gas and almost everything makes me constipated that never did before. Things like rice or even chicken. I lost about 20 lbs in 3-4 months.

I did a ct scan that showed thickening of the rectum and some diverticuli.

Not Sure what to do to get help with this :( I use miralax everyday but I’m still not my normal self and still feel weird in the lower left area. I also don’t have insurance

Do you feel any lower left/pelvic pain as stool is coming out?

Esp for those with ibs c.

I use miralax everyday so the stool is decently soft. Not sure if it’s the anal fissure I have but today I noticed some slight pain as the poop was coming out.

It was from the lower left area down to my l pelvic area close to the hip bone a little.

Is this a weird flare or something else going on

I was on a three month low residue diet last year when I began not feeling well.

Since December I developed a weird lower left tenderness. Honestly it only started right after I as bending down a few times for something. For nearly a month it felt very uncomfortable to bend down for anything. I also felt a weird tenderness feeling when being in a car. Even if I’m not driving.

I do have ibs c so when I have gas I feel some tinges down there.

I also notice if I have a full bladder I feel tender or almost like a heavy feeling lower left also.

I haven’t done any scope procedure due to this feeling and nervous about feeling worse or a perforation as I’ve had two family members that it happened to before. One even died. I know it’s rare but after knowing this and having anxiety plus no health insurance I’ve just been putting it off. I’ve seen 4 gi docs and none seem to understand my concerns or fears about the procedure.

That’s a separate issue.

My concern is since the beginning of this problem last year October I constipated pretty much everyday. I don’t eat trigger foods like dairy and gluten.

But even chicken and rice makes me very constipated. I ate just 10 pieces of small potato chips. I didn’t even eat half of the small bag and I was so constipated I developed a fissure….

Is this normal dv stuff?

Simple foods that didn’t cause me any problems in the past are now making me constipated. It doesn’t make any sense.

One of the drs said it could e colitis. But colitis seems to cause diarrhea rather than constipation. I use miralax everyday

Dog still peeing a lot. One month of clavamox. 1cm stone

Female dog 10 years old Spayed

Currently on clavamox for a month. Almost done with the month course.

Urinalysis was done but no culture. No debris or crystals found, ph normal but blood noted, some protein and rbc. To the naked eye I haven’t seen blood or any change in color in urine or foul odor.

Xray was done and one stone was found about 1cm

She’s also on hills urinary food hoping that the stone can dissolve.

Vet quoted me 4k for surgery to remove the stone.

If she has a uti wouldn’t it have cleared up by now? Are these symptoms because of the stone?

She’s peeing often most times just a few drops or none coming out. Taking longer outside. Shes maybe kinda scared to drink water she never drank much to begin with. sometimes I give her water by force with a syringe

I’ve seen about 4 gastros and none of them seem to care much :( I’ve been like this for nearly six months.

I attempted a sigmoidoscopy in nov but it was unsedated and I couldn’t feel with the tenderness and pain. The dr aborted the procedure and said “why didn’t you tell me you had that much tenderness” but I didn’t know I did. My behind felt so bad for hours even though the scope barely went in. The nurse told me they were using the smallest scope they had and it’s for babies. I felt the tenderness even when the dr did the rectal exam with his finger. I lunged forward. He didn’t even seem to notice or care about my physical reaction.

My lower left area s to ll feels kind of tender, no official diagnosis and no meds were given. No stool test etc….I saw there’s some stool tests that can test for inflammation and not any of the drs I’ve seen mentioned it.

I have anxiety and I’m really scared I will possibly feel worse after the procedure. I also developed a small tear/anal fissure recently so it hurts to go to the bathroom everyday.

I’m scared of the air and water they will put in my colon and if it’s inflamed I may feel it afterwards. When I spoke to other people on Reddit they said it’s not technically safe to any scope procedure when you have inflammation as there’s a risk of perforation.

Everyone and their drs are saying something different. I feel no one cares about my concerns and no one if even giving me other tests or meds to see if I’ll feel better.

I’m rubbing coconut oil back there esp before pooping and after I shower I add the oil and some of the ointment. I’m trying to manage it but it hurts pretty bad. It hurts to sit, stand and walk even. For several hours…

I saw many posts from people saying calmoseptine helped them. Does it burn? Should I just stop using the diltiazem? There’s some lidocaine in it too but it’s not numbing or taking away the pain at all

I’m currently using the lidocaine and diltiazem ointment but it burns when I apply it and still stings for awhile after using the toilet.

Should I continue using it or switch to another ointment? Which one of the above has worked best for some of you?

I saw one comment say they apply some Vaseline to their hole before they poop. Another mentioned holding their checks together to prevent the fissure from expanding.

Anyone have other tips?

Other than softening stool (fiber, miralax), drinking more water or ointments which I’m already doing.

F Dog Spayed 12 lbs Chihuahua USA

My dog was peeing and straining to pee sometimes with just a few drops coming out or none at all.

Took her to vet and got Amoxyclav 1ml twice a day. Waited two weeks or so and saw she didn’t have much improvement so took her to another vet.

They did a urine test, xray and blood work

Blood work was normal

Urine shows some blood and I think elevated ph. No debris, stones or crystals found

However the X-ray showed one stone about 1 cm or so and two really small ones

This vet prescribed the hills urine health c/d dog food and one month of clavamox 125mg twice a day.

My dog is on day 5 of meds and the improvement is really slow almost barely noticeable. Should I do anything else or do I just wait? Should she get a different antibiotic?
