Thesis Interview Inquiry- Toledo Residents who attended Lucas County Schools from 1950-1975

Do you know someone who was

  1. Enrolled in OR WORKED AT Lucas county schools between 1950-1970?

-Added interest in special education schools such as the the Feilbach School, the Glendale Feilbach school, the Sunshine Children’s Center/School, the Lott Day school and the Miami Children’s Home.

  1. Did this person have a physical or mental disability? Did they KNOW someone in school who had one?

-The topic of this interview is regarding Cold War civil defense policy, so if the possible interviewee has any memory of preforming emergency drills, how their school planned to evacuate, etc, that information would be greatly helpful. I am interested in seeing how schools and homes prepared for disaster with disabled people in mind.

I am a graduate student at BGSU in the history department currently working on my thesis. My thesis looks into how disabled people were ignored by Cold War preparedness programs.
I am looking to find someone who may be willing to speak with me, or be interviewed as I look more deeply into my topic. I will be utilizing a case study looking at how Toledo, Ohio’s did not accommodate for disabled students, but if I am WRONG and they DID I would love to know!

Thank you for reading,
Hailey Kozey

Stash Busting (selling)

Hello all.. where is the best place to sell my yarn I’m not using? It’s sweater quantities of knitpicks and a few balls of more boutique yarn. eBay keeps too much of sales for my liking and Facebook marketplace isn’t working.
