Okay I’ve always felt like Jesse would give me Jax vibes and that he’s just so much more self centered and calculated than he lets on. I have been thinking about when he told Schwartz at the nail salon he actually hopes Schwartz would date Michelle so he can have something to hold over them….this was NOT A JOKE. He was like salivating at the thought of having that told hold over Michelle and Schwartz. Same vibes as when he was holding the honey thing over Michelle and Aaron. He didn’t even care, he had a new girlfriend but just loved having power over them. He’s scary to me!

We are on day 10 of introducing our 4 yr old resident cat to our new 4 and half yrs old.
We haven’t let them in the same room yet, and are using the Jackson Galaxy method. Since doing gate sessions, resident cat was hunting/stalking/hissing at new cat after food was gone. We made some progress over the weekend and there is no more hissing and they have even been touching noses through the gate. After, resident cat just stares. I do know if this is an aggressive or just interested in watching the new guy. The new guy just plays and I can’t tell if I should end the gate time when old one is staring this intently or not? Any insight is appreciated!
We have had a male cat (4 years old) for a little over 6 months and he is perfect. He had no trouble adjusting and is the most social, easy going guy. Truly an enigma when it comes to cats, he is so good and well-behaved. We went on a trip for the first time since getting him and he was incredibly sad while we were gone which prompted us to want to get him a friend. We always planned to get a second one with how easy and happy our cat is but expedited that after seeing how bummed he was during our vacation.
Fast forward to a week ago, we went back to the shelter and brought home a new guy. New guy is about 6 months older than our resident cat but way smaller. He is in his own bedroom and is settling in beautifully. However, we have been doing small baby gate sessions with both cats. Every night, we give both cats a Churu on either side of the gate. While they are eating it is great. After Churu, resident cat changes. He gets into low hunting/stalking mode, hunting eyes and slowly paces outside the door. We have never seen him like this so when that happens, we shut the door and end the session. However, if we push resident cat out of the way, he will redirect the aggression toward our foot or whatever is nudging him away. New cat is not showing signs of fear, and resumes business as usual after Churu time. If anything, new cat wants to get out with resident cat.
I know we are only on day 7 but I am feeling exhausted and defeated. I am worried that resident cat will literally kill new cat because he is so much bigger and showing so many signs of aggression.
When I talk to people, they say this is okay and I am sure it will be but I am anxious this will be uncorrectable. Any advice for what we should do for week 2? Or just words to calm my own anxiety? 😞
Not even sure what I am looking for, maybe just solidarity and reassurance? I think things like this have been asked often, however, reading some horror stories in comments is heightening my anxiety so wanting to start a new thread.
