Mako (for a boy)

I love ocean/nature related names. My children are going to be raised by the beach also, so it’s suiting. If I used this name for my boy (after the Mako shark), how should I pronounce it?

I know there’s Japanese roots as well and they tend to pronounce it “mah-ko”, but everyone pronounces the sharks name “may-ko” online it seems, so I’m quite conflicted.

What sounds better? Mah-ko or May-ko Finley (Finley as the middle name)?

First names that go well with Sinclair?

Can be a girl or boy name, but preferably a boys first name that goes well with the surname Sinclair

I tend to like more unique names, so I would prefer if they weren’t on the top baby name lists such as Noah, Oliver, Zoey, etc

What are some character names you want to name your baby?

What are character names that you want to name your baby, but maybe don’t want to admit to? Names that are a little too out there, but badass or really cute?

I really like unique names, so this is a no judgment zone :)

Some unique names I like

This isn’t satire. I will be using normal middle names if I use any unique names for my future children in case they want to go by a more normal name and hate their first name don’t worry, but these are some more out there names that I really love:

Jetta - girl

Phaedra - girl

Kyber - boy

Novan - boy

Mars (don’t know how unique this is but I’ve never met a Mars or seen a famous one) - boy

Saber - girl or boy

Embla - girl

Cloud - girl

Reva - girl

Fang (as a middle name)

What’s a really out there/unique name you love, but don’t want to admit?

I’m making a baby names list and I like somewhat unique to very unique names. Never been into more common names such as Emily, Ashley, Rebecca, etc. Mostly because I never liked when people had the same name as me in school and also because I just like unique sounding names in general.

Some examples of names I like: Saeber, Cosmo, Stari, Cedar, Dusk, Spheno, Frosti, Snowe, Cove, Cloude, Aeri, Jacinta, Dawn, Flare, Fender, Iceli, Spheri, Raini, Echo, Jetta

MY QUESTION: What are some super unheard of or just less common names that are associated with maybe space, nature/weather, music, or technology ?

DEAR HATERS OF UNIQUE NAMES: Please do not comment hate. I plan on giving my kids a regular middle name so that if they hate their unique first name they can go by the middle name if they choose to. I just genuinely dislike basic names so don’t be boring and hate plz.

I’m creating a list of names for my future babies. I want extremely unique names that no one has ideally, but as long as they’re not like “Emily”, “Sophia”, “Ella”, etc. that’s fine. I just don’t want it to be extremely common and basic.

Even names that aren’t actual words are fine, but I want them to sound cool still. Some unique names I like are:

• Spheno (sfin-oh)

• Vydim (vid-um)

• Auri (or-ee), I know this one isn’t extremely rare, but I haven’t ever met someone with it

• Zenith

• Saeber (like saber but I like this spelling better)

• Fender (I think of the electric guitar when I hear this, but someone told me they think of “fender bender” so maybe not)

• Dusk (I don’t know how common this is but yeah)

I’m also okay with somewhat common, but not too common names such as:

• Nova

• Lilith

• Mars

• Kento

• Yoshi

• Cosmo

• Romie

• Sage

• Juno

• Raini

• Dawn

Let me know of some more that you think I might like please!! ❤️
