I trust that y’all are aware of the recent primaries. I worked for a Democratic candidate in the 5th Congressional district of Maryland. Her name was Quincy Bareebe. She is an Ugandan immigrant who built up a healthcare business in Odenton, MD. Her priorities during the campaign were affordable healthcare, holding corporations and bigger businesses accountable, protecting and supporting federal workers, and making higher education more affordable. She unfortunately lost and got 18.1% of the vote compared to Boafo’s 32%, but then again, there were 23 candidates (24 if you count Nicole Williams) in that race, so second isn’t atrocious.
I have this photo of me with my campaign shirt and reddit username as proof.

Savage Speeders: I imagine they listen to nu-metal, EDM, and hardcore hip hop, mainly because of the “savage“ imagery.
O’rangers: Bro-country. They have a Western theme and I think their playlist reflects that.
Midnight Wisps: Electro-Pop or dance music. I know Wospy was blasting Zara Larrson’s Midnight Sun.
Raspberry Racers: Neo-Soul and jazz. I imagine them training in a mahogany room with Erykah Badu in the background to match the atmosphere.
Mellow Yellow: Melodic trap. Think Rae Strummrd, DJ Mustard, etc.
Pinkies: Hyperpop. I think of pink in it’s more digital form and associate it wit SOPHIE.
Crazy Cat’s Eyes: Reggaeton, Brazilian funk or afrobeats. Basically anything with the tresillo drum pattern. The faster the better.
Team Momo: Classical. I will not elaborate further.
The Kobalts: I don’t know why, but I believe their playlists are full of older and more upbeat pop and R&B tracks.
Indigo Stars: I think their playlist consists of dreamy, meditative, lo-fi, or alternative R&B, like Jhené Aiko, Frank Ocean, UMI, etc.
NOTE: I AM NOT USING ANY MUSIC SHE MADE WHEN SHE WAS VERY YOUNG AS HER VOICE HAD NOT MATURED.
Vocal Type: Light-Lyric Soprano (if we use classical terminology; Jhené Aiko considered herself a choral alto in an interview)
Vocal Range: C#3 - D5 - C#6 (3 Octaves)
Estimated Tessitura: E3 - B4 - F#5 (2 Octaves and 3 Semitones)
Unique Vocal Characteristics: Use of vocal fry and dips after sustaining notes, staccato and rhythmic delivery, adding an “h” before vowels, noticeably longer vibrato, especially in higher notes, and airiness
Vocal Strengths: Great melisma and control over vibrato and tone, generally healthy (albeit a bit high) placement, underrated head voice, light and clean mid-range*
Vocal Weaknesses: Nasality, foggy and less resonant lower notes*
Overall, Miss Chilombo is an exceptional vocalist and I cannot wait for her to drop that damn album.
Favorite Vocal Performances: Oblivion, OLLA, Lightning & Thunder, LOVE, calm & patient
*could be a stylistic choice
My office is a 10 minute power-walk from the Largo metro station and it was considered to be in either Lake Arbor or Upper Marlboro depending on the website.
I remember seeing a house on my phone close to Kettering and they labeled it as Bowie.
One time, my weather app showed me Hyattsville despite me being east of fucking Landover (don’t ask me why I was there), of all cities, towns, or unincorporated communities.
And then there’s Brandywine. I have resigned. The cartographers defeated me.
Can anyone explain the inconsistency with the mapping? Does it have to do with zip codes? Is it just my stupidity? I’m genuinely curious.
