got old man emu suspension kit for my toyota 4x4 and wondering about post install steps

i needed better ride height and handling for weekend tracks on my toyota so i ordered the old man emu suspension kit and it arrived quick with all the parts for a full upgrade.

what exact torque specs and alignment checks helped after you installed similar suspension on your rig to avoid any handling issues or uneven wear?

seller accepted our offer, now I’m terrified we’re making a huge mistake

We finally got an offer accepted after months of searching and I thought I’d feel excited, but honestly I mostly feel stressed.

The mortgage payment is technically within our budget, but once I factor in taxes, repairs, utilities, random stuff breaking, it suddenly feels way more real.

The house itself seems solid from what we can tell, but I keep reading horror stories online about hidden foundation issues, bad plumbing, nightmare neighbors, etc. Now I’m second guessing everything.

Did anyone else feel panic right after getting an offer accepted? At what point did it actually start feeling “real” in a good way instead of just scary?

inherited a duplex from my uncle and i dont want it

my uncle passed last year, nice guy but damn he did not take care of his property. left me this duplex in his will and at first i was like oh cool free money. then i actually went inside

place is rough man. roofs got a leak in two spots, plumbing is questionable (toilet makes sounds that shouldnt exist), one unit has mold in the bathroom ceiling from a leak that was never fixed. tenants are still there but they been paying way under market rent for like 5 years cause uncle never raised it on them

i live three hours away so managing this from a distance is not happening. called a property manager, they want 10% plus a leasing fee plus i still gotta pay for all these repairs upfront before anyone will even rent it at market rate. were talking like 20-25k easy just to make it not embarrasing

my wife says just sell it and be done. my brother says fix it up and keep it for the cash flow. i dont know who to listen to

i looked at listing with an agent but after commissions and closing costs and probably giving credits to the buyer for stuff the inspector finds, i might walk away with nothing. also i gotta evict the current tenants first or sell with them in there which a regular buyer probably wont want

anyone here been through something similar with an inherited rental? did you keep it or dump it? am i stupid for even considering selling or is my brother right about holding long term. i hate making decisions lol

A couple of months ago I would’ve told you I was just blowing off steam after work. I had some personal stuff going on. Just the kind of problems that slowly pile up and you never wanna resolve them. At first I’d stop at a bar for a drink or two after work. It felt harmless. I had people around me, friends who’d listen, and it almost felt like therapy with a happy hour menu.

But eventually people get tired of hearing the same story again and again. Life moves on for everyone else. I started going alone more often. And slowly one drink became three, then just one more stopped sounding like a bad idea. I didn’t think of myself as someone with a problem because I was still showing up to work, paying bills, doing normal life stuff

Then I got pulled over after driving home one night. The whole thing was very embarrassing for me from start to finish. Sitting there on the side of the road realizing I had nobody to blame but myself was a reality check for me. I kept replaying it in my head afterward, thinking about how did I let it get this far?

The court process was uncomfortable enough, but what really hit me was finding out I’d need to install a DUI interlock device. That part felt weirdly humbling...

The strange thing is, I look back now and realize I was trying to solve stress in the worst possible way

Well… I could’ve been going to the gym, running, doing literally anything healthier instead of trying to find answers at the bottom of a glass…
