Why didn't I quit social media earlier? I can't believe how it completely changed my life.

Facebook user for 24 years and Instagram for 10 years. I recently decided to detach myself from both platform. Too much rage bait, politics and ads. What made me finally quit was I looked at the thousands of followers and friends I have online and asked a simple question. When was the last time they visited me or call to talk to me? I narrowed the list down to 10 only! Now I do regular text and phones to close friends. Were booking a camping trip together with my best friend. I am so happy now. Social media actually made me more depressed. I regret no doing this earlier.

Have been off all social media for a week now.

No FB, Instagram or Pinterest. Only Reddit but for discussion and informational purposes. I'm noticing time and overall pace of life is slower. I don't feel like i'm in a rat race anymore. I have a lot more boredom now. But this boredom is giving my brain time to explore my creativity, which I never thought I have. For example, i'm beginning to create ideas for starting my own online art business on Etsy.

Is $3k enough capital for print shop?

I want to start a digital and print shop selling greeting cards (mainly Holidays, Birthday and Wedding). I will need to invest in a specialized printer, supplies and advertisement. Is $3,000 enough or should I save more?

If it's not smart to post online, then what is the point of social media?

I have friends and family members who tell me it's dumb to post online pictures and status. Smart people keep everything private and not reveal. They tell me people who are smart will sit back in silent and observe but dont reveal anything. So what is the point of having a FB account if you're just going to be creepy and spy on people. Doesn't this defeat the purpose of "social media". So we all should just have dead boring accounts and play mental games with each other. I post family pics and fun outings so that my long distance friends and family can keep in touch and "see" us. But none of them post anything in return. I hate for me and my family to be the "spectacle" while others are freeloading by not doing their fair share.
