Studio Homes

Two small, studio homes that are big on personality. Although similar in construction, the style of each is very different. Can easily be converted to rental property. Play tested as both residential and residential rental.

Sims 4 and Paralives

I have been playing the Sims since Sims 1 came out. I own all the DLC (except for some of the maker's kits). I recently finished creating my first challenge, The Curse of the Gray. I love life simulation games, and Sims was the first one I played.

That being said, I have been super excited about Paralives. I bought it on the day it was released in early access. I immediately jumped into it and played for about two hours, then stopped. I realized that I was expecting the game to behave like Sims 4 and give me the same experience. That is so unfair to Paralives Studios. They have created a beautiful, thoughtful life sim. It's not The Sims, and I really don't think it's trying to be.

I have taken a break from both games this past week. I felt like a little space and time will allow me to come back to Paralives with a new appreciation.

My impression so far? Paralives is a love letter to the life simulation genre, the Sims in particular. It has a similar magic that I first encountered when I played Sims back in 2000. I think it has the potential to be something really special. If nothing else, the fact a small, independent, studio can release a game that can compete with a game franchise that has been around for 25 plus years is super impressive.

No, I don't think Paralives will be a Sims killer, and that makes me happy. I am looking forward to having unique experiences in both games!

Ready to share my Challenge and tracker!

It's finally ready to share!! I created a 7 generation challenge called The Curse of the Gray. The premise: You were born into a cursed family. You have never experienced a world of color. Your whole life has been shades of gray. Determined to break the family curse, you strike off on your own.

Curse of the Gray

I also created a Universal Gameplay and Challenge Tracker.

So, I am looking for some feedback on a challenge I am creating. It's my first one. I'm not done with it yet, but it's a rags to riches 7 generation narrative challenge. I am wanting to basically rebuild and repopulate my game through gameplay. This challenge will leave Newcrest as a complete world, with tons of lore. I want to make a challenge for each world. It's also a way for me to really dig in and explore all the DLC I have (I have all the DLC, lol)
