Looking for advice on losing weight/ ab exercises to do for someone with chronic back pain

Hi guys,

I'm desperate for advice please.

I am only just returning to the gym after being 18months/2 years out of the gym.

I have chronic back pain and it's really disrupting every day activity.

Doing any ab workout is actually a nightmare for my back.

Some of the workouts I actually just stop doing because my back aches so much. That Is why I've been out of the gym for so long. Even walking to the gym would disturb my back a whole lot.

What are the best ab exercises to do for someone with terrible back pain?

What cardio is easiest to do for someone with a bad back?

Any advice I would really appreciate it 🙏🙏

I honestly can't tell if I am losing my hair or just being stupid

I'm hoping people will have some advice around this topic regarding my hair 😂

Hi,

I have absolutely no idea if my hair is just very slowly growing, to the point that I don't know if it is even growing around the fringe anymore.

I think I am losing my hair / it's not growing anymore (especially around the crown of my head and the fringe)

I honestly cannot tell. I did pull some of it out due to stress which was a stupid thing to do.

Is anyone able to help me with these questions?

  1. Am I losing my hair

  2. What can I use (if I am losing my hair)

Any advice is really appreciated 😊👍

Hibernia advice

Hi guys,

I'm just wondering if anyone can provide some advice for Hibernia with the PME.

I'm wondering if all of these events/ days are mandatory to attend, or are they recorded to watch in your own time?

I know the in-person face to faces are mandatory, placement, the Gaeltacht etc. But what about the rest of them?

Would it be possible to work part time while the events/days are taking place while then watching them in my free time.......if it is in fact correct that they record everything required.

Thanks in advance if anyone reads this 🙏🙏

Social welfare while going back to college

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice here.

I am on social welfare (while seeking part time work) and I am going back to college in September.

Do I have to inform mywelfare.ie that I am going back to college?

Or am I able to stay on social welfare while attending 3rd level education?

I honestly don't know what I'm supposed to do in this scenario.

If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Kind regards

😊

Mental health post

Hi guys,

I feel a bit pathetic posting this.

I have severe mental health issues and I don't work because I don't actually care about what happens to me (most of the time)

But I'm just asking to see if there are any free therapies available for someone like me.

I don't have money to pay for 80 euro sessions for therapy.

I was also referred to St. Pats in Dublin by my GP but found out that my insurance doesn't cover it.

My parents have said that they would give me the money to be admitted and "Just pay them back over the course of my life" but I am someone who cannot accept that sort of money, knowing that if they needed the money for something more serious, and if they gave to me well then I would feel like a scumbag for taking their money.

I just want to say I think I need a lot of help and it pains me to be asking for services that are free of charge or highly subsidised.

If anyone reads this, thank you 🙂

Hibernia feedback

Hi guys,

I had my Hibernia interview recently.

It went on for nearly 45 minutes when the allocated time is only 30 minutes

Is this a good sign?

Also. Is it ok to be corrected in answers that you give?

Also I didn't really get the chance to use key phrases such as differentiation, active learning, reflection, assessments (judging by the phrasing of their questions)

Just looking for a small bit of feedback.

Kind regards,

😊

Advice on razor burns/spots after shaving

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on how to get rid of razor burns. Or how to treat them.

I usually have no luck with shaving. I use electric razors. I use manual razors with shaving cream. I've even tried women's razors because I heard that they were actually better than men's.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

😊😊

Hibernia advice

Hi guys,

I have posted here in the past. But just looking for advice.

In the first interview for Hibernia I passed the Irish part but I failed the English. I wasn't surprised to have failed the English because I don't think I did have enough time to prepare but just said I'd apply in the off chance I did get it.

I'm applying again in June. I'll apply quite late in order to give myself the most time to prepare.

These are the questions I have prepared for the English component of the interview:

Why do you want to become a primary school teacher?

Why Hibernia?

What do you know about the role of a primary school teacher?

How would you handle a disruptive child in your classroom?

How would you communicate with parents about a child’s progress or a concern?

How would you cope with a large class and mixed ability levels?

What do you know about the primary school curriculum in Ireland?

How has the school environment changed since you were in school?

Tell us about a time you worked as part of a team:

How do you plan to manage the demands of the PME?

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Question to ask the interviewers at the end of interview:

‘’What do the most successful students on the programme tend to have in common?’’

If I have these answers all prepped do you think I'd be ok?

There's not a lot of other questions I can think of that I would be asked.

Also. Does anyone know is it possible to have a sheet of paper with you in case I lose track of what I'm saying and then just look at the piece of paper with my point jotted down?

Thank you to anyone who does have a read of this.

😊 😊
