Water standing in backyard

Hi everyone,

We have a new built and moved in around 1.5 yrs ago. This summer we have noticed that water keeps standing in one corner of our backyard. It looks like that backyard has slope on that edge. Just sharing pictures after two hot days and no rain and water is still standing there. Our plants are also dying out because of too much water. Could you all help me find a solution or best person/business to contact who can sort out this issue and help us?? We are also trying to get in touch with our builder but we all know that it takes time to chase them and get help.

How to homeschool ASD and ADHD kiddos??

Location: Canada
I’ve 3.5 yrs old daughter who’ll be starting intensive early learning Pre K program this September. She’s speech delayed and likely on spectrum. We also suspect ADHD. She’s mainly on the go and it’s a struggle to get something done with her.

I always wanted to homeschool her. Although I’ll be starting her school this September but I don’t have high hopes that she’ll do good in large social setting. Are there any parents out here who’re homeschooling their neurodivergent kids?? I’d love to connect and get ideas from you.

For God’s sake, please help me with PICA

So my daughter likes to put non food items in her mouth, mostly toys, playdoughs, squishy, etc. I keep telling her that toys are to play with and we don’t eat them. She’s has been medically tested and everything is fine. She’s 3.5 but taller and looks like 5 yo.

Just now in her Speech therapy, she put a big chunk of play dough in her mouth. I kept reminding her to spit it out but she kept chewing and ate it. She still puts toys in her mouth. I offered her chewy and she doesn’t prefer it. Idk what on this earth I can do to not make her eat this stuff. Please tell me.

Verbs/action words flash cards

Does anyone know of good flash cards about verbs/daily routines/action words?? My daughter can label almost anything for flash cards and books. I am thinking to add verbs flash cards to help her expand vocabulary and talk more. She’s 3.5 yo. I can definitely make them myself but if I can save time, that’s excellent.

Thanks

Feels like I’m talking to wall

I try hard to sit with my daughter every day to teach her something, something that she can learn but honestly it feels like I’m talking to the wall. She isn’t interested at all. She is not interested in anything except asking and requesting food again and again. 3.5 yrs old and doesn’t know how to hold crayon. Wouldn’t focus at all to learn something. I read books and she moves away. There’s no play because she wouldn’t engage and wants to just have her agenda. If I come to play what she’s doing, she’d just start something different. She went to ABA for almost an year and have always whined, cried, didn’t pay attention to what they tried to teach (I mean her hands doing something else and eyes looking somewhere else) so I have decided to pause it. She doesn’t play with toys at all, nothing catches her interest. Just loves TV. Idk what to do. I’m so frustrated.

I hope those people are lucky whose kids have ASD but still have interest in learning something. At least life won’t be this hard.

4 years old starting school this year

My daughter will turn 4 this October and she has been offered a spot in public school division for Pre-K with additional support. Just now my husband is getting mad on me that we were supposed to delay school year and I’ve started the process too early. He thinks that it’ll be Pre-K, kinder and then grade 1 when she’s 6. His plan was to start grade 1 by year 7 so she could catch up on delay.

I’m so frustrated on this argument. I thought that I’m doing good for my daughter and it’s just a prek not that I’m sending her in kinder or somewhere. I know that she’s not ready at all for school but that’s the reason she has support with her. He’s also against me sending her to daycare. I try to send her to daycare a couple hours every day so she gets to socialize. Other than that, she lives with me and my husband - we don’t even have any family here. My husband thinks that I do what I want to do and don’t take his perspective into consideration. But all I’m doing is trying to help my daughter and provide her opportunities.

Remote jobs in Regina or new start ups/small business

Hey everyone, I’m trying to find a job through proper channels but thought to post it here as well. I’m searching for a remote position in Regina, most likely will prefer small businesses or start ups. I’ve experience working in health care administration and government of Saskatchewan for 6 years. With kids and life changes, I’m looking for a remote position now. If you know of anyone who is hiring or can drop some helpful comment, please let me know.

Thanks.

Reliable babysitter

Hey everyone. Just trying to find a reliable and trustworthy babysitter for my 3 years old in east Regina. I’ve tried to get in touch with few persons and for one reason or other — it’s not working. Any leads on where should I be looking? Sadly none of our friends have kids available in that age range where they can baby sit.

What are my options?? Mom with autistic child

Hello all. Just wanted to get some advice from members of this group. I am 36, completed my master in biochemistry in Canada. Ended up in provincial government in a totally non related records management field. Worker there for 4 years and then went on maternity leave. I had to quit my job after Mat leave because of my child. Now we know that she’s neurodivergent and needs lots lots of my time to go through the day. My husband works full time to cover the bills. We are hoping that over next two years our child will settle in school and life will be in better position so I meanwhile should look into degrees or something that can give me sound foundation for a career. I had started online business diploma when I was working and it’s near completion. I’m looking for something that I can do with pick/drop of our child and can go through unexpected situations. Just so lost and worried about the future. I don’t have any retirement savings either. Please help.

Attacked by HPV 😞😞

So I had two warts initially, the big ones that started around October 2025. And now I’ve clusters of warts showing up inside skin yet. Skin hasn’t opened at those spots yet. My dermatologist suggested putting ACTIKERALL (5-Fluorouracil 0.5% and Salicylic Acid 10%) once daily before bed. I’ve started taking multivitamins and additional vitamin C and vitamin D. What else should I add to help my immune system boost and help me get rid of this virus??

My bigger two warts hurt really bad. I don’t want more pain 😞😞.
