Olympic super Center

We’re trying to buy a boat. I was wondering if anyone has ever bought boat from them? Or if you’ve ever dealt with them, what it was like, do you trust them? What is everyone’s thoughts about this place? I’ve heard a lot of bad things about the owners. So we’re just struggling to decide if we wait to see if Morrows Marine will get more inventory or if we should just bite the bullet and go to Olympic?
We’d be new boat owners so I feel like a fish out of water (pun intended)

Best place to buy quality running shoes for most reasonable price

Hi, just wondering what is everyone’s choice of place to buy decent quality running shoes ? I know good quality is not cheap, so that’s not necessarily what I’m asking, but a reasonable price would be preferred if I can find it. I’m looking for a place that sells quality running shoes with good arch support.

Thank you in advanced.

Protein powder

I have always tried to support local brick and mortar stores. But I swear every time I go to buy protein its $20 more than last time.

Looking online this appears to be a widespread thing (fuel prices, tarrifs etc), but Revolution and CanadaProtein websites are still cheaper than anything I can find in the city.

Where are you going for protein powder these days? I don't care if it's whey or isolate really. Just want to do some price comparisons.

Canned goods past BB date

I have about 26 cans of various veggies and fruit that are past the best before date. No dents or bulges, and from what I’ve read can still be used. Do food banks take this?

Scummy people while getting gas

Word to the wise: Lock your car and roll up the windows when you are gassing up at a self-serve. Maggot human opened my passenger door while I was refueling on driver's side and grabbed my cellphone and some other things. After tussling briefly, a shot to his face made him drop my phone and I recovered with little damage. Wait til he tries to sell my air pod knockoffs I paid $3 for from Wish.

Tipping fishing guides?

Planning a guided fishing trip at Diefenbaker. All in around $1000 for the day. Is it normal or expected to tip 15-20% of this? Does it all go to the guide?

be VERY careful where you get pierced

i wanted to post this because i’ve switched piercers twice before finally finding someone i feel confident going to. please be careful, do your research beyond google and facebook reviews, instagram followers or how friendly a studio seems. a good experience at the appointment doesn’t mean theyre following the best practices.

one studio i have no shame in naming, is prickly pear. specifically the old lady who works there. (with extreme attitude issues) i went in for a belly piercing, and later found out i didn’t have the correct anatomy for one. instead of being told that (and saving myself some money) i was essentially given a surface stomach piercing. which of course, started to reject and i never went back to them.

i switched to another studio where the staff were very friendly and i initially felt really comfortable. unfortunately, i later had issues with some advanced cartilage piercings. i brought up how i believed the jewelry was too small and wasn’t allowing room for swelling/irritation and how it was constantly putting pressure on my ear. my concern was dismissed, and instead my irritation bump was poked at/popped with a qtip, which hurt WAY more than the piercing itself.

i then found the potion bar on 13th ave, and i genuinely have never had a better experience.

i brought up the same concern about my jewelry being too small and was immediately listened to. come to find out, it was too small. she swapped everything for properly sized, implant grade titanium and the relief from the pressure was basically instant.

and from what i can find, the potion bar is the only APP (association of professional piercers) member studio in the city. app membership requires studios to meet specific standards around things like sterilization, infection control, safe studio setup and appropriate high quality jewelry.

obviously people have had great experiences at other studios, and i’m not going to say that they didn’t. but i really encourage people to be cautious, ask questions and know what materials are being put into your body.

TLDR: be VERY careful who you trust to stab holes into your body. i had a badly done/rejecting navel piercing at prickly pear by the cranky old lady. then issues with improperly sized jewelry and questionable aftercare at another studio. finally went to the potion bar on 13th ave and the difference was night and day. proper implant grade titanium, actually listened to my concerns, and they’re the only APP member studio in regina. cannot recommend them enough.

edit: to find an APP member piercer in your city use this website - https://safepiercing.org/find-a-piercer/

currently the potion bar is the only one listed for regina.

Wanting to how the Pasqua and General ERs compare

I took my son to the General Hospital ER the other day. It was packed. Lucky (or unlucky depending on how you look at it) for me, he was sick enough that we got right into a room after triage (he’s fine now so that’s why I say lucky). I live in the North West and the General is a good 20 minute drive compared to the Pasqua but I’ve always just gone to the General. I like to try Urgent Care when I can but when it’s late at night, that’s not an option. Just wondering what everyone’s experiences have been like at each and whether one is better than the other?

Looking for new mods. You want to be a mod?

As you can probably tell, I'm the only active mod around here (I added a new one a few weeks ago but that didn't really work out...that person deleted his account shortly thereafter). It works fine on most days, but others, things can get out of hand. Also, as I have said multiple times around here, I am a real human who really lives in Regina and who has a very full work, family, and social life. I don't do this as a job and I refuse to.

All this to say is I need a bit of help. I am looking for folks to help me keep conversations going and appropriate, even when someone says something you personally vehemently disagree with; but also will keep things from turning into a complete free for all. There are lines we can't cross and lines we shouldn't cross. We also don't need bazillions of threads about the same topic. That sort of thing.

If you're interested, please either respond here or send me a private message and tell me a bit about yourself, what your modding philosophy is. I'd appreciate being able to see your post history, but that's not necessarily a requirement.

Not everyone who indicates interest may become a mod, especially if there is a long list, but I figure it's time to have the conversation.

Thanks, folks! Have a great day!

Interior car detailing recommendations

Hey guys, I just bought a new car and the previous owner was a heavy smoker. I myself have water vacuumed the seats with a carpet odor remover, wiped everything down and cleaned everything I could think would trap smoke (including changing the cabin air filter) and the smell is still persistent. Is there any Regina businesses that you’ve been to that have removed a smoke odor from your car? Thank you in advance.

Homecare options for Dying family member?

Hello,

Our grandparent is 96 years old and it appears her final days may be nearing. It was her wishes not to go to the hospital but it appears at home she may be in a lot of pain. Does anyone know of any good options to have someone come to our house to help with care and maybe medication administration. She won’t be able to take pills or anything. And it has been quite a quick decline so it would be great to have help as soon as possible (hopefully today)…

The other option is to go to emergency to try to get palliative care but I don’t know how smooth that process would be. We are already DNR but I fear it would not be worth going in.

If anyone has any insights into the situation I would be very grateful. Thank you for reading!
