Red Sox have already raised ticket prices under new Semple ownership

Guess that’s what happens when you go from a non-profit to private ownership. Knew it would happen, but surprised at how quick since after the initial announcement they claimed prices wouldn’t go up.

General admission (bench seating): $15 -> $17.92
Premium admission (backed seating): $18 -> $20.99

So that’s increases of 19.5% and 16.6% respectively. I’m personally quite upset and pessimistic about this change and what it signals. I would not be at all surprised if Semple runs this into the ground by raising prices and making them unaffordable like he did with the Pats.

Edit to add: Old ticket prices were all in (assuming cause non-profit they didn’t have to deal with tax), and the new prices don’t include tax. So actual increase in what we pay is now

General admission: $15 -> $19.89
Premium admission: $18 -> $23.30

Weird question, but a bar near me recently was opened and they have a pretty bad looking, obviously AI logo. It has made a lot of people I know genuinely less excited about visiting the place.

I feel like there has to have been a version of this type of thing well before AI was around. What used to be the thing a restaurant would have that would make people look at it and go “yeah I don’t know about this place actually.”
