Almost 9 mo, CIO day 1 torture

Hi my baby is almost 9 months and I decided to start sleep training cio method I’m typing this as I’m sleep training in the middle of the night he’s been crying for almost an hour 😭 idk if I can take this anymore am I doing something wrong?? Will he go to sleep and when I don’t understand I thought the way it works is they cry their heart out initially and then get tired and sleep. This is how it went tonight. My intervention made it worse but I was just worried. He’s on 3 solid meals takes between 600-700 ml normally has a MOTN feed at 5am ish. He deosnt normally feed before then but because he wouldn’t has his before bedtime feed I thought he was hungry . I’m
Confused

8:19pm - put him down
8:20 - standing, sitting in cot
8:25 - fussing, wriggling, no cries yet
8:29 - started crying
8:31 - sleeping
10:40 - wake-up fussing and small cries (2-3 mins went back to sleep)
12:13- wake up and fussing and small cries
12.20 - went to check his neck if cold started screaming crying got worse
1220 - make feed milk ??
12:25am - offered milk he didn’t want it
1:09am - still hysterical crying since

8.5 month old hourly wakes!!!

Hi, I have posted on here quite a few times haha regarding sleep training and my baby waking up every hour of the night. I think I am ready to sleep train but before I get there I thought for a few days I would try a gentler approach I’m not sure just so I can see if I definitely have to go down this route 😭.

For context - we follow a 3/4/4 ww and naps are capped at 2 hours. 7am to 8pm schedule (normally) this varies a little sometimes he is sleeping by 830pm

I rock to sleep (don’t feed to sleep anymore) and he deosnt normally need a MOTN feed. He deosnt drink more than 600-650 of milk a day (because of sickness this has been in 150ml increments) usually I give it in 200mls. 3 solid meals a day. His naps are fine he will sleep 1-1.5 hours and not wake up usually I have to wake him. But it’s the nights he’s up every 45 mins to an hour.

Yesterday I tried something different. I usually go to friends house and he will asleep on the way back in the car. So closer to his bedtime we left and he fell asleep in the car. When I got home I had to rock him to sleep as he woke up upon being put in cot. After that he was up every 45 mins to an hour but instead of going in straight away to rock him I let him cry for 5-10mins and he settled and went back to sleep.

5:40am he woke up and after 20 mins of crying woudl wouldn’t sleep then at 6:15am I feed him (200ml he drank it all so he must have been hungry) but yday it was the same thing but he only took 100ml when he woke up at this time (I’m trying to get him to 3 bottles a day so I thought I would stretch the bottle to 7am) now I’m not sure how that will work today.

After 6:15am he wouldn’t sleep so I rocked him since our start day was 7am this took 15 mins I put him down at 6:30am but he was still babbling fussing till 7am when he finally slept I was exhausted so we got up at 7:30am.

The thing is all through the night he would fuss and cry for 5-10 mins but his eyes were still closed and lying down which isn’t normal for him usually he gets up standing straight away. But at 5:40am he was up standing

Anyways what does this tell me?? Do I still need to sleep train? How to 3 bottles?? What’s happening

8.5 month old waking every hour... naps are fine but nights are hell. Help

I don’t even know where to start. I’m so exhausted.

First 6 months were just survival mode. He was sick constantly, nothing worked, we co-slept and I gave up on schedules. When he got sick he either woke every hour or slept through. No middle ground. Bedtime was anywhere from 10-midnight.

For the last 2 months I’ve tried to be consistent. Own room, own cot. Wake at 7am every day.
Tried 7pm bedtime, 7:30, 8, 8:30. Nothing changes.
Tried every wake window combo for 2 naps. 3/4/4, 3/3.5/4, capped naps, didn’t cap naps.

His naps are actually really good?? 2 naps, 1-1.5hrs each. 3 hours total.

But nights... he wakes EVERY. SINGLE. HOUR from like 8pm-12. I rock him back down and he’s up an hour later. Then it stretches to 2 hours. Then he’s up for good at 5 or 6am no matter what I do.

He was only taking 400ml formula a day for ages + 3 solids. No night feeds. He’s up to 650ml now but still wakes for comfort.

Right now we’re also dealing with teething, a regression, and he’s had diarrhea for 5 days + fever on/off. So part of me thinks I should just wait it out??

I really don’t want to sleep train. I know it works for some people but I can’t do it right now.

Is this just a phase? Has anyone had good naps but terrible nights and fixed it WITHOUT sleep training? I’d take any bedtime. I just want one 8 hour stretch 😭

Feed to sleep association? 8mo

Hi, so I’m trying to get my 8 month old into a routine as he keeps waking up at night and he’s on 4 bottles 3 meals atm till now feeding him milk wasn’t too hard because I would just offer him one in the morning then one before nap 1 then one before nap 2 and one before bed. But now because I’m trying to have him on a 8am to 8pm schedule and wake windows are 2.5/3/3.5 the bottles are given upon wake up and then one before bed. Before bed is fine but I’m struggling with the other bottles. He won’t drink at all like today he’s only had 200 ml since the morning rip idk if I have created a feed to sleep association pls help.

For reference :
He has 3 solid meals happily bfast lunch dinner and snacks sometimes
I offer him 200 mls always but daily intake ends up being 550-650ml normally. And overnight wakes he will sometimes take 50-100ml but usually is just waking for comfort

Usually feeds go like this for him before the routine implement
Feed 1 - 150ml
Feed 2 - 150-200ml (usually 150)
Feed 3 - 150-200ml (usually 150)
Feed 4 - 150-200ml (sometimes 100)

8mo old wake windows/routine

Hi so I am currently trying 2.5/3/3.5 with my baby (8am to 8pm) bedtime routine. And total day sleep capped at 3 hours. I’ve tried different variations and he’s usually always up every hour but fail to stick to something for more than a few days as I’m desperate for improvement.

  1. Day naps he can sleep well (I have to wake him up at the 1.5 hours mark for both his naps)
  2. Night time he wakes 3-4 times just fussing/sometimes cries but settles (2 of these I went in to rock and settle but we’re both before midnight)
  3. Up at 5am tried saving with a feed but didn’t take more than 100ml
  4. Up at 7:40am for the day

I’ve only tried this for two days and want to stick to five days before changing see what needs to be changed but I would love some tips. If I should try stretching windows? But for the first one it’s hard he gets tired by 2.5

8 MONTH OLD WAKE WINDOWS HELP!!

I need help please!!

Okay we need to figure my baby out because today I decided to follow 2.5/3/3.5 wake windows. So currently it’s 3:15pm he went to sleep at 3pm he’s still sleeping right now and he’s had 400ml milk today. He’s only got one more 200 ml feed to go this is the issue I’m having. If I stretched the second window to 3.5 hours like I usually do I probably would have gotten him to have 150-200ml and I’d rather he had 4 bottles (first two are usually 150ml and the second two are 200ml) so he’s getting total 700ml with 3 meals. But now he will get 600ml of he takes 200ml for his last one. If I let him sleep 2.5 hours I wake him up at 4pm then bedtime will be 730-8pm. I’m sick of hourly night wakes idk if he is low sleep needs or not idk his wake windows I’ve tried every combination and the result is the same just hourly wakes at night. It seems like he’s a solid day napper now can do 1.5 hour stretches but struggles at night. One thing I know is 2.5 hour morning wake window he gets tired. But even now the 3 hour mark he’s sleeping but idk sometimes he can stretch it to 3.5 and the last wake window I have noticed 3.5 hour is what he can do before fuss but sometimes 4 hours it’s just random everyday. What do I do I don’t want to sleep train but if I have to I will. I did do a consistent week of forcing him to get up at 7-730am and got the same result not sleeping then I tried calling naps at 2.5 hours same result then at 3 hours same result then 8pm wake up same result. Bedtime I tried 8-9pm same result still wakes. Only thing I noticed a couple of days ago was he had 3 hour nap total during day woke up at 730am slept 8pm (following 2.5/3.5/3.5) and then woke up at 10pm but from 10-630am he slept longest stretch but idk if this was a one off fluke or he was sick??

I just need help pls with

  1. wake windows (what are his!!?)
  2. schedule routine if starting the day at 7 or 730am
  3. do I need to sleep train ? Was trying to avoid it because I know how difficult it can be
  4. How much total day sleep for him to be tired at night?

Thanks!!

8 month old who keeps waking up won’t sleep HELP!

Hi this is going to be a bit of a long post so bear with me… so my son just turned 8 months and I am struggling with his sleep routine. He gets his calories in during the day milk and solid but I can not get him to sleep early (I gave up on a 8pm bedtime but 9pm would be nice). He is just all over the place sometimes 9 sometimes 10 and then lots of wake ups at night . The past week has gone as following due to some changes I made. He now sleeps in his own room/cot. Before these changes he would sleep around 10-11pm till 7-8am a day with no wakes up or 1 or 2. Alway random. Ever since I have been waking him at 7:30am to keep consistent he still deosnt sleep early even with 2-2.5 hour naps. (2 naps a day)

Day 1 - slept 10pm woke up 730am, 2.5 naps
Woke up 5 times (transition to his own room I suspect)

Day 2 - slept 10:30pm, woke up 7:30,
NO WAKES!! 2.5 naps

Day 3 - slept 9:30pm, woke up 7:30am, 2 hr naps
2 wakes

Day 4 - slept 9:30pm, wake up 7:30am, 2.6 hr naps
3 wakes

Day 5 - slept 9pm, woke up 9am (I woke him up late because I was exhausted) 1.5 hr naps
6 WAKES

We follow 3/4/4 wake window I try stretch to these as he gets fussy closer to these times like crying and tired

For naps I try to get 2 hours atleast but it’s not possible always or he wakes up and it’s hard to get him back to sleep

For night wakes patting waiting notbing works he cries more but if I pick him up hold him a bit put him back he’s usually fine the day 5 night he needed a feed at 6am which deosnt usually happen considering he gets plenty in the day

Please help I don’t want to sleep train. Should I stop forcing him to wake up at 7:30? What if I put him to bed at 9pm and wake 8am?? Idk will this help the night wakes. I don’t want to sleep train I’m so exhausted as it it

Late bedtime baby won’t sleep

My baby just turned 8 months and ever since day 1 his schedule has been all over the place I was hoping by now we would get into a routine but I don’t know what’s happening. Some days he will sleep 8 hours straight other days he is waking every 30 mins. Yes he has been getting sick a lot and teaching etc but for the past couple of weeks we have been clear of sickness etc and it’s not improving. I’ve tried every combination to wake windows 2.5/3/3.5 3/3/4 3/3.5/4 . It seems like none of them make a difference. I also tried 2.5 hour nap time max and he still won’t go down by 8pm even though he has been waking up either 7am or 7:30am or 8am. He just will not go down by 7-8pm. He sleeps by 10:30/11pm normally. But it’s such a challenge of rocking patting trying to get him to sleep for hours. I’m thinking of sleep training but I don’t even know if it will work, he usually gets his milk and food during the day so he deosnt wake up at night for feeds just comfort I guess a lot of tossing and turning. Usually if I go with the flow and don’t track naps and let him sleep late like 10:30-11pm he will sleep through the night but this isn’t always the case. He is super super active during the day I just want an hour back after he sleeps to unwind. Being a single mum w no support. Help pls what should I do? What’s a realistic bedtime I should aim for and how do I work around wake windows and naps?? How can I get him to stop sleeping at 11pm at night

8 month old should I sleep train?

Hi so my baby just turned 8 months and for months on end he’s just been getting sick teething etc no matter how much I tried Implementing a routine was out the window. His feeding was random or non existent naps lasted 2o mins and he would sleep really late. Anyways now he is getting better so I really want to implement a routine but I am struggling. He normally sleeps anywhere between 9:30pm to 11am (rare cases till midnight) and wakes up between 7am to 8:30am. With a wake in between sometimes for a feed. The night before last he woke at 8:30am and I managed to get him to sleep by 8:30pm so I thought I could finally implement a routine and then yesterday when I tried doing the same he was fighting it crying finally slept at 9:30pm but was up every 30 mins I’m exhausted. He normally has 4 bottles (150-200mls) of milk and 3 meals which I’ve been on top of. And I try get him 2.5-3 hr sleep during day even if it’s in 20 mins naps. He also co sleeps with me at night for our sanity and I try put him in cot during the day. Idk what to do should I sleep train? How do I do it? My family isn’t supportive of it and being a single mum with ppd and anxiety I’m worried to do it alone (currently I move back and forth between our places)
