Please don't hate me

Yes, please don't hate me, but all I could afford for right now is the Betafpv Aquila 16 RTF kit. I wanted to get started so bad, but it's been difficult to put the money together. Also, with all the prices going up next month, I wanted to get what I can right away. After all this, I will come up with a plan to save up for better hardware in the future once I get used to flying FPV. The reviews on the kit have been so mixed, but it always comes out in favor for total beginners who then move on to better hardware. I feel like I'm disappointing this sub reddit and hobby. LOL
That's it for now.

Look at this image and help identify movie

I saw this art piece and it reminded of a movie. All I remember is a kid building a fort out of snow. Can you help?

WSL2 Ubuntu and cron jobs

Hi. I was working through a bash tutorial and a portion talked about cron jobs. I edited the crontab for both regular user and root to run a test script. In both instances, the script never ran. /var/log/syslog shows when the crontabs were edited, etc. Also there are these entries:

2026-08-13T13:36:02.393235-07:00 t1nk3rm0b1l3 wsl-pro-service[1730]: #033[33mWARNING#033[0m Daemon: could not connect to Windows Agent: could not get address: could not read agent port file "/mnt/c/Users/computertinkerer/.ubuntupro/.address": open /mnt/c/Users/computertinkerer/.ubuntupro/.address: no such file or directory

These entries are there whether the cron job was set for the regular user or root. Any insights or tips highly appreciated. This is my first time ever dealing with cron jobs. Thanks.

Betafpv included charger safety

Hi. I wanted to break this out into a separate post/discussion.

I'm getting my Betafpv RTF kit soon and it comes with the inexpensive white charger.

My questions:

will it mess up the batteries by using it?

And, since it doesn't have storage option, should I be worried about fire hazard safety?

I mean, if it was not safe/usable, why include it, right? Well, other than keeping cost down. The reason I'm concerned is because I won't be able to get a better charger right away. Thanks guys.

Took a step back

Well, I took a step back to regroup about this hobby. I had the Radiomaster T8L and was practicing on the sim just fine. I just kept having a hard time deciding on the next pieces: goggles and drone. I may have experienced information and opinions overload. Get this, not that, etc. Which is all good and the suggestions were all appreciated. I returned the controller and going to start saving up to get an RTF kit that comes with batteries and a charger. I already know it'll be about $400 to get going, but at least every thing will arrive together and won't have to much guessing. I've decided to go for the Meteor75 HD kit. Of all the videos, posts, etc., the Meteor75 kept coming out on top. The Aquila kits kept getting stepped on by the community, even though some youtubers gave it good reviews for beginners. Anyways, I'll be around once I have the kit and questions/issues arise. This is an awesome hobby, this sub reddit is the best. Thanks for reading my long post. 🥰🤭
