Mattel HWW25 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL

Someone described this set as their new favorite LEGO-style car, and honestly, I have to agree with them. This is a fantastic brick representation of a Mercedes 300 SL, and the details just made me smile ear to ear almost the entire time I was building it. I really wish every car set had this level of thought and detail in them, and the even more bizarre part is that Mattel is selling these for $50 cheaper than the new Jaguar set from LEGO that's a similar scale. They're really raising the bar on this stuff.

My Mattel Mercedes Benz 300 SL came!

I am so excited to build this, and I have to say the presentation is way better than actual LEGO's so far.

LEGO 10318 Concorde

So this set is pretty amazing. The build is really fun and intuitive, and the clone is really solidly done, minus one very annoying issue. For some reason this copy only printed the windows on one side of the fuselage. Not the biggest deal in the world, since I plan on displaying it from the side, but still annoying. Regardless it was absolutely worth the money at $44 from AE.

Quanguan 300018 Mk. V Heavy Tank

Just finished building this Quanguan Mk. V tank that I got from AE. Overall, I’m really happy with it despite a few issues, and it's definitely the most unique looking tank in my collection now.

The track links are an absolute pain in the ass to put together, as expected, though I will note they're at least not as hard to put together as the tracks on the BT-7 I built last week (these just snap together easy, there's just a ton of them.) Besides that the build defintiely had some parts that were difficult to keep together, but that's nothing that couldn't be fixed with some plastic cement (my go-to is Tamiya Extra Thin cement.)

I'd say this set is a definite must have for anyone who loves WW1 models! Quanguan's earlier models were definitely rough but I've been extremely happy with their new production sets lately.

Quanguan 100290 BT-7 Fast Tank

Quanguan really has upped their game with more recent sets, and this one is no exception. I absolutely love the BT-7 (given that it holds the world record for longest tank jump) so I'm so happy to have this on display now next to my IS-2.

10300 Back to the Future Time Machine

Me and my friends recently rewatched the Back to the Future trilogy, so it convinced me to finally drop the money on this set, which is an amazing value for the price ($30). The set is a near perfect recreation, minus a minor typo on the info card ("Plitonium") but besides that it's exactly what I wanted, and I'm really satisfied with it. If you love BTTF this set is a *must* have.

Quanguan 100249 IS-2 Heavy Tank

My newest military vehicle! I really love how nice Quanguan's sets have gotten, probably some of the best Soviet vehicles on the market right now. This one in particular is gorgeous, with a full interior. Gotta say, I'm extremely satisfied. (Bonus third picture is the real-life IS-2 #414 after the Battle of Berlin)

UCS AT-ST from HeroToyz

Gotta say this is a pretty stellar clone. Only issue was the head of the minifig was the wrong color but I fixed that by using a spare Nazi helmet head for the imperial pilot. This is absolutely worth the money, honestly the brick quality and latching matches LEGO.

Sluban Sopwith Camel & Fokker Triplane

These planes are so cute! Not a ton of parts but they definitely make a cute display piece.

This is how much insulin my Tandem pump considers to be "empty" with these new defective cartridges.

I am so frustrated with the batch of cartridges I was sent recently. Nearly every one reports it's out of insulin long before it actually is. It would be less frustrating if they didn't insist on wasting 10 units every time I need to refill a cartridge that isn't actually empty.

AE 11376 Ford Model T

I'm always a bit apprehensive about ordering from AE for sets, because I find it to be a bit of a gamble. Thankfully I wasn't disappointed with this one! It turned out beautiful and I'm really looking forward to displaying it with the rest of my collection of vintage car models. I did have to use the glue in the first picture on a couple of pieces to really make it steady, but after that it's quite solid.

Anyone have any experience with this AE shop?

I've been trying to find a Rolls Royce armored car for my friend as a gift, and I found this on AE that seems to be a copy of the Brickmania model. Has anyone purchased from this store before?

The Army Rangers have arrived from Pointe du Hoc!

I decided to order some minifigures from Joy and I was not disappointed! These little guys are so cute, and the detail on them is immaculate. The tiny dual-color guns are really nice and look the part great as well.

Got this set from Barweer and it's really nice! The detail on it is amazing, and the scale seems to be about 1:56 scale so it fits minifigures well! The "crew" minifigures that came with it left a lot to be desired, but the sub itself is beautiful. For about $120 you really can't beat it.

The custom-printed pieces I ordered from MyGoBricks for my Dusenberg finally came in! I think they look pretty nice, though unfortunately the Dashboard piece lost a lot of detail from my design. (at least it's not that noticeable when it's actually in the car)

I'm really happy with the license plate though, I based that on actual NY license plates from 1930 (I envisioned this as being a big fancy car in NYC in the 1930s, the plate # is an easter egg for the release date of the first Mafia game)
