Inert gas experiment
Just wanted to share a side by side decarb experiment. I’m looking at how effective inert gas is at protecting rosin during the decarb process. To test this I decarbed two 10g jars of the same strain, one with the gas and one without. I ran them together in the same water bath, and keep all other variables equal as well.
Colour: Surprisingly there was zero difference
Taste: The flavour is better on the inert gas jar, brighter notes with more throat tickle. Normal jar isn’t bad, but the flavour went downhill faster. Smoother but muted in comparison. Taking blind pulls I can tell which one is which
Effects: Seems the inert gas rosin hits better too, doesn’t burn me out. On the other hand the normal jar is noticeably sleepier/stonier, not really what I’m looking for
Overall I think the inert gas was well worth it and I’ll keep using it. Didn’t really notice any downside
