New To TRT... Apprehensive
I recently had tests from a urologist to explore potential for HRT and it was determined my testosterone level is very low. I had expected to most likely be put on Estrogen patch and progesterone but really didn't anticipate testosterone but the practitioner believes this will be helpful with some of the issues that I have been having.
The practitioner that I saw prescribed a testosterone gel 20.25mg/1.25 gram per pump act. (1.62%) that I can get from Walgreens and indicated one pump daily. Walgreens indicated this is a low dose as well.
Unfortunately I went down the dark scary road of googling and was told this dose is meant for a male and not suitable for a female. Can someone help me understand this discrepancy and whether it's an issue or not? I don't want to have androgenic side effects from too high dosing. I also am new to this practice and don't want to start off on the wrong foot by questioning their care protocol if there is actually no issue.
