Cream to injections

I have been on compounded testosterone cream for over a year now. My dose was 20mg daily to labia. I have just switched to IM injections of cyproniate. Wondering what dose I should start off with ?

trt weight gain

Husband here, wife has been on hrt and just recently added test injections at 6mg twice a week. Her energy improved, libido a little and better workouts but she also had a large sudden weight gain. She will probably stop the test but we were wondering if this is common at the beginning and if it balances out over time. i also gained weight when I started so wasn't sure if its the same on the woman's side.

Time of day dosing T Cyp IM

Hi, I am switching my dose from weekly to bi weekly and I was wondering if anyone has had any problems taking a dose in the evening. If I try to take it evenly spaced apart through the week, one evening dose makes sense.

But I don’t want to take it and have it make me wired or up all night. My clinic gives me pre-filled needles that are coupled with a dose of Vitamin B. I don’t have any problems sleeping currently and I take progesterone and trazadone at night.

I don’t notice feeling wired when I take the dose during the day.

I’m taking 9mg 2x a week, IM T Cyp.

Side note: I wonder if it might be useful for the mods to make and pin a “no stupid questions” thread for stuff like this so we can ask simple questions that might not require their own post. I searched the sub for this question with no luck.

How long to feel effects from injections?

Today was my day one of T Cyp injections 20mg/week split into 2 doses. I’m coming off of cream which despite 3 different doses and various application spots etc can’t overcome my ridiculous SHBG, so hoping jabs will do the trick!
How long did it take for fellow injectors to notice it working? 🙏🏽

Dr. Sue Davis and relative T/E levels

I recently came across an IG video by Dr. Jen Gunter, having a discussion with Dr. Sue Davis. They're saying that the idea that women have far more testosterone than estrogen in their bodies during their pre-menopausal years, has 'officially' been debunked as of 2025's meeting of the American Menopause Society, solely due to some research Dr. Davis did. They say that past testing has always lumped testosterone and DHEA together which gave artificially-elevated T results, but that's really confusing to me because DHEA-S testing has been around since like the 1970s, so being able to test them individually is nothing new and ground-breaking. I myself have had DHEA-S testing just in the past year (I'm in menopause so I get regular testing done of all my hormones), as well as free T and total T.

I've always read that women have something in the range of 3-4x more testosterone than estradiol during their younger years, and now they're saying that's a myth that has been taken advantage of by 'meno-influencers' (and I'm sure I know exactly which doctors they mean). They're saying that women actually have FAR more estrogen in their bodies than testosterone, because people confuse the units of measurement and if you covert T units to E units, it 'proves' that E is higher by many times. There was even a comment in the IG video that questioned that assertion, because yeah, that's kinda backwards.

Has anyone else heard this? Does it make any sense? I'd never even heard of Dr. Gunter before this, so I have no idea what her stance on this was before now or whether she's anti-T.

EDIT: here's the link to the IG video.

I have questions for those of you who experienced hair loss from testosterone...

I'm postmenopausal. Started taking T in a compounded cream and was going bald. Started to take 1.25mg of oral minoxidil and 2.5mg of finasteride. Whatever remote interest in sex I had tanked after 6 months.
Just started T Cyp injections and I am starting low. I switched in hopes of more energy, cognitive function and a libido. I'm wondering how many women have been successful with T injections who gained a libido and mitigated hair loss? Wondering if there's hope for me to have both and would love to hear from others about their experiences.

Please help me interpret my lab work

I (41 YO cisgender female) started 5mg T cream in October with great improvement the first 7 days and nothing after. Increased script to 10mg in November and still no increase in libido outside of ovulation.

I went to my OB this week to discuss HRT, and had my blood drawn. Is there something in my bloodwork that points to T not being what I need? What is the missing piece?

Side note, while I had pending lab results my OB did prescribe an estrogen patch and progesterone pills.

Does anyone also inject NAD+?

I’ve (62 YO) been on Test Proprionate injections since December. I started because I was exhausted all the time and when I had my levels tested, my total T was 6. Over time it’s up to 58 now, and I’m injecting 5mg 4 times a week. I’ve seen a little improvement but not as much as I’d hoped for.

UNTIL…
Last week I added NAD+ injections after researching how they can also help with energy. It’s amazing how my energy levels are up where they haven’t been in years! Is it just the NAD+ that’s doing this, or a combination of both? I’m due for another blood test but I’m tempted to discontinue the testosterone when I’ve used up my vials and see if I’m good with just taking NAD+. I’m starting to feel like a pincushion lately, and the injections are expensive and not covered by insurance.

Has anyone else added NAD+ to their testosterone? Anyone stopped taking testosterone and started NAD? I’d love to hear what your experiences are if you have.

I’m leaving for Jamaica this weekend and will need a dose of both T and E (my Estrogen is in a prefilled syringe). Does anyone know if I’ll have any issues with TSA?

Im a 17y/o afab looking to grow my clit (NOT NOW but like later on in life) and ik that like trt and sometimes steroids enlarge ur clit and make you stronger, and i js wanted to see if smb could explain what its like to take trt and if yall would recommend something else besides trt???

i should also state that im not looking to transition at this point in time (despite being an overtly butch lesbian lol). also, i feel like body type and activities would make a difference in how i would react to trt, so js in case, i've been wrestling and do shotput and discus for the past 4-5 years 👍

Wife Low libido

Hi,

I'll try to keep this as short as possible. My wife (40) and I (43) are both fit and workout 3-4 times a week, we don't drink or smoke. Almost 2yrs ago she had bariatric surgery and lost 30kg and she couldn't be happier, however the combination of the surgery and what she has informed me are perimenopause symptoms, have basically killed our sex life over the past 12 months.

Prior to her surgery and symptoms we would have sex 3-5 times a week, now its once a week at best, sometimes once every 1.5 weeks, just no libido.

We live in a country where Dr's are clueless on female HRT, so other than requesting blood work, we are basically on our own. Our plan was to get her bloods done and start on a low dose 10mg Test, split twice per week and see if her libido improved.

Thoughts ?

Edit: My wife takes a bariatric multivitamin prescribed by her surgeon, her normal blood work for blood count iron, glucose, calcium e.t.c all came back normal, so it's not a vitamin deficiency.

Need alarmingly high amount of testosterone

Update: After reading through everyone’s comments -and I thank you all for them - I feel so much better about the fact that my body is not broken and that I’m not the freak of nature that I’m being made to feel. So here’s what I’m going to do. I’m gonna ask to go up in estrogen and I’m saying fuck it to all of the lab numbers with testosterone. I’ve spent four years and thousands of dollars on testosterone and never had more than a month tops of sustained improvement. I’ve had it! From here on out I’m going by symptoms. Thank you to everyone!

And when I say alarmingly high, I mean crazy high. My total testosterone is 938 and my free testosterone is 11.6. Shouldn’t I be basically transitioning into a male? Beyond that, I do not have one single negative side effect – no oily skin, no acne, no oversized clitoris, no whiskers. How is that possible
at this level? I have to have it this high in order to be able to have any sexual response and sensitivity. Otherwise, I can’t feel anything in my clitoris or nipples and have little to no ability to orgasm (or if I do it’s after about 15-20 minutes with every toy I have, and when/if it does happen, it’s about as powerful as a sneeze). I also don’t want to have sex — the lack of desire makes sex icky to me. I’m not going to give up intimacy with my husband!

What’s wrong with me?? I’ve been on testosterone for over three years now and I’ve struggled the entire time because no one seems to believe me and I’ve been made to feel like I’m weird.

So if anyone has anything similar to this or you’re a fast metabolizer or you have any idea what might be going on, I’d love to hear from you. Thank you so much!

Best virtual provider?

Finding a good provider that wants optimal levels of hormones has been challenging in my small city. I have had one bad experience after another. Who have you used for a virtual visit and enjoyed the experience? I’m not completely knowledgeable about where my hormone levels need to be so I want to find someone who will not treat me like a number and will help me throughout the process. Who do you like? Also, how do they get your bloodwork?

DHEA at low doses has been more helpful for me than testosterone even at superphysiologic doses

I have low DHEAS and testosterone due to chronic low dose prednisone. I went to a HRT clinic not knowing the philosophy of many of these clinics is to start women at superphysiologic testosterone dosing. They started me at 15 mg/week. I noticed some benefit, but mainly lowness and brain fog the 2nd half of the week. Also oily skin.

The clinic I went to, Trillion, doesn't support much lower dosing because they won't order 50 or 100 mg vials and also would not support biweekly dosing for trough symptoms. It blows my mind that they have multiple clinics in multiple states operating in this manner. I also have high blood pressure and a family history of heart disease. They do not take family history and no one there knows how to take a manual blood pressure reading. They always charted me as having normal blood pressure.

Anyway, I found a much more flexible provider and take testosterone shots daily now. I stabilized at a lower dose, but it's just okay.

I started 5 mg micronized DHEA tablets a couple months ago based on chat bot recommendations (why not?), and it was everything I expected from testosterone and more. More mental energy and clarity, more libido, better mood. My DHEAS before was at 8, and is now around 100 (optimum is over 100), so that's probably why it helped me so much. My testosterone levels have also increased with the added DHEA. Enough to where I plan to taper off my testosterone injections.

I asked my HRT doc why no one is prescribing DHEA (it's an important neurosteroid) and she said it was b/c people have variable responses (DHEA is precursor of testosterone and estrogen). This kind of makes sense, but this mentality didn't serve me well as a patient imo. It is pretty standard in medicine to supplement DHEA with levels as low as mine.

Just wanted to share my experiences.

Need help with proper dose for starting testosterone cypionate injections.

Hi there, so sorry but I’m trying to avoid another pellet and do injections on my own. I’m getting a 250mg 10ml bottle of T cypionate. Does anyone else use that? Seems like a LOT of testosterone if women are starting at 3/4mg or less twice a week. The bottle would last years, right? Please point me to the right dose/method, I need to figure this out before I decide to do it so I don’t overdose and grow a beard. Thank you :)))

Conversion between testosteron cream and injection

I've started trt a year ago taking 2mg cream testo. Than went up to 6mg and currently my doc wanted me to go up to 10mg. I asked to switch to injections. He said to take 10mg per WEEK with injections but my current prescription is 10mg per DAY. Is there something I don't understand or is cream vs injection not absorbing the same? From my understanding if I take 10mg per day, I should multiply that by 7 to get a weekly dose... so I should take 70mg per week. Can someone help me understand this?!??

Felt amazing on pelletes but they leave scars!

Switched to injections and my level is 112. Now I feel every part of my cycle. On the pelletes my level was high around 200 but I only felt bad for like 3 days.

I guess the testosterone suppresses the cycle. Has anyone used testorone to suppress there cycle? I’m scared of birth control but this is the closest I’ve come after years of PMDD

Frustrated with side effects

I’ve been on cream for 5-6 yrs. Post menopausal. Lessening benefits so I wanted to try testosterone propionate.
Was put on 10mg 2x/week and after 1st dose I knew it was too much. Heighten sexual interest and easy orgasm. Unbearable bloating.
Went to 2 mg every other day. 10 days in exhausted about 1 hr after injection.
Went to 1mg in morning. Lessened the immediate exhaustion, but sleep is worse, irritability same, hair loss scary.
Do I need to just quit or stick through with these bad side effects? I’m really frustrated and I tend to make sudden changes trying to find relief. Mostly from hair loss and poor sleep.

Cost of injectable Testosterone in Australia

Hi ladies,
I'm currently on Androfeme cream that costs around $100 AUD per tub.
So I spend about $700-$800 per year on that.
ChatGPT recons that if I switch to injections I can reduce the cost to $100-$150 per year.

My question to the Aussie ladies in this group - how much do you pay for your injectable testosterone and what is its concentration (10g/ml? 20mg/ml?)???
