Is a SHBG level of 56 considered “low”?

I recently lowered my T dose due to some anxiety and losing too much weight, I went from 7mg a week to 5.25. My total T was usually in the 100s-low 200s at one point but my free t would never get very high. Now that I lowered my T dose, my T is in the 60s but my free at went UP, I’m losing hair, and shaving my legs and dermaplaning my face wayyy more often now since my free t went up despite my total T went down. I read that it has to do with SHBG but my SHBG is 56, it’s always stayed in the 50s every blood draw since last year, always 50s. Is that low?? What would the reason be that my total t went down but free t went up, also odd that I’m having negative high T symptoms. Edit to add: I titrated from 7 mg to 5.25, it wasn’t abrupt. This has been going on since February is when I started lowering.

Did you get a better rating than you were expecting?

Just curious… I see many people post about getting a lower rating than they were anticipating but anyone here get a better rating than they thought they would? Specifically for PTSD… but just curious in general.

Anyone get cystic acne?

Curious if you get cystic acne how do you treat it? I’m on Spironolactone and my skin has been great but because of HRT and stress, I have a huge cystic pimple that won’t go away, it’s been a week. The last time I had one of these years ago, my derm gave me a steroid shot and it worked like a charm but then I had a divot scar for MONTHS. if you get steroid shots for acne, did you get an indent after? I wonder if it’s provider error or what? I’m scared to try it again for this pimple but it will not go away.

Cystic pimple

Those of you who have had to get dermatologist intervention for a painful deep cystic pimple…. What did they recommend? I tried a shot once and while it went away within 24 hours, it left an indent on my face for MONTHS. Is that normal or is it provider error? Would love to hear if it left an indent for you or not.

PTSD claim

My husband served in Afghanistan in 04 and is finally making a claim for PTSD to get benefits after years and years of saying he didn’t deserve it because he was fine. He’s been in therapy and has 2 PTSD diagnoses (civil therapist and VA psychologist ) and a connecting stressor event during his deployment that was even documented on his paper work when he got out. His VSO is saying that that is enough to file and that we don’t need to write letters etc.

My question is…while it should be enough to get a rating, does him writing a letter help his rating?? or myself, family, buddies who served with him…. Even his boss (who had been encouraging him to go to the VA for YEARS to get help) said he would write a letter but the VSO says only if we want to collect letters but it’s not needed. I guess I’m wondering if we need more paperwork to ensure he gets what he deserves or does that all come down to his C&P and all that extra stuff is really not necessary?

I’ll add: He suffers from anxiety, sleep deprivation (VA prescribes him meds), and ears ringing, migraines all which he will be filing as well with his PTSD and all of this was in his paper work when he got out of deployment but my husband still just didn’t think he deserved anything back then. He suffered in silence for way too long.

Anyone been to the Kimpton Miralina or the Andaz resort?

Wondering if you liked it for a quiet kid free getaway. I’m also looking into the Royal palms and Omni Montelucia

Royal Palms or Omni

Looking for a quick getaway without kids and I’m stuck between these 2. I’m not looking for a pool party vibe atmosphere, I’d like quiet, not a lot of kids. I was leaning towards royal palms but their pool seems so small. Which do you prefer? Not looking for a spa day, mostly just relax and hang by a pool, eat good food, rewind a bit before madness of school begins.

How long was the process for you?

Apologize if this has been asked and answered before but I’m curious how long it took to get your rating once you submitted your paper work for VA disability. Is it going to depend on where you live or is it simply a roll of the dice on how fast you get an answer? Does it depend on how much you submit? My guess is it’s all over the place as far as timeline but just thought I’d ask.

Hotel suggestions

Curious if any of this area that I have circled is “nicer” than say downtown Albuquerque? Would that area be “uptown”. I Need to stay a few nights and will be driving my own car so anything with secured parking would be a bonus or if it’s just generally a safer area then that’s ok too. My other thought was Rio Rancho. Thoughts?

Edit to add: the casinos are a bit out of my price range, they’re about $1000 for 3 nights. I’m looking for like $400-$600. So far, lots of good recs, thanks everyone!!! So helpful.

Need recommendations for hotel

Could really use some recommendations for a hotel in Albuquerque since I’ve never been. I’ll be coming from the west, and I’d like to find a place with secure parking or parking security. Hotel Chaco, Hotel Albuquerque and the Andia Casino are a little too pricey. Are there any others in a decent area that match that criteria?

Help with dosing! I’m in a bind

Ignore the blue markings, photo is to show you the syringe that I use, it’s .3cc….I have a vial of 200mg/mL T cyp and I need to draw 1.5mg, yes 1.5 MG. This is only temporary until I get my usual 50mg/mL bottle in the mail which should be shortly. Can someone please tell me where I draw to for 1.5 mg. I understand it will be incredibly small but can someone please help me, I’m in a bind, I’m on a every other day dose schedule and don’t want to mess my body up since I’m sensitive to hormone fluctuations. Thx

Who here is on a LOW dose?

I know some people are starting off on 10 mg a week etc but I’m curious who here only requires a very small dose? I’m talking 5 mg or less a week! I’m very petite, never weighed more than 115 lbs my entire life (except when pregnant) and I’m thinking I need a much smaller dose. Im not sure if weight has anything to do with it but maybe? So im curious, if you’re on a small dose, how do you feel? Are you gaining muscle with a small dose?

TRT for a year and still no libido

Anyone else on T and not had any luck with your libido? I’m at my wits end, been on T injections for a year and I’m on E injections as well (been a year on that) and E vaginal cream which I just recently started. I don’t know what else to try.

Upper bleph

For those of you who got your upper bleph covered by insurance, can you give me some tips on where to start, did you see an ophthalmologist first or a plastic surgeon? How difficult was your insurance? Thx

Vaginal E cream

I’m embarrassed to ask this but what’s the best way to apply my vaginal E cream? Ive been on Estradiol and Testosterone injections for a year but my Clit has completely disappeared, getting my E and T up has not helped which I find odd but maybe that’s normal? I got E cream and the instructions say to insert 1 gram but if I rub some on allll over down there as well, will it help bring my clit back? How long did it take yours to get better?

Anyone here quit Dutasteride?

Curious if anyone quit Dutasteride? I’ve been on it for 6 months and still shedding hair like crazy despite DHT being low so myself and provider feel I should come off of it because it hasn’t helped my hair and my DHT has been below 5 for quite some time so it’s clearly not needed. I was only taking it once or twice a week but I feel like it is disrupting my hormones (even though I’m on HRT) plus my hair is still shedding. I’m scared my hair will fall out even more. Anyone quit dut?

Could use some help figuring out needles and syringes.

My T cyp vial is 50mg/mL. I’m injecting every other day and only injecting 1.75mg every time. Right now I’m currently using a 30 gauge .3cc syringe and needle. Originally I started off doing sub q in the belly but I didn’t like that, can’t explain why but I just didn’t, I generally have an aversion to needles, doing sub q in the belly just grosses me out. I switched to doing Ventra glute with the same syringe/ needle size and it’s been great BUT am I even getting it into the muscle with the needle I’m using? My hubby thinks so because I’m very lean. And my problem now is, I would like to start rotating, I think I need to rotate to a different site, I’ve been rotating glutes but with EOD injections, I feel I’m injecting in the same spots (generally) every time. If I did thigh or delt with my needles on hand, is that ok? Again, im very lean. Or do I need larger needles? I hope I don’t need larger needles… I also could not even find a .3cc syringe with a larger needle and I’m doing such a teeny tiny dose, I need a .3cc syringe I believe. What are your thoughts? Any suggestions? Am I over thinking this?

I guess what I’m trying to say is… I’d like to keep using my short insulin needle but I want to keep doing IM… is it even possible? Or should I be doing it in my belly fat?
