I am really interested in being an alternative funding business loan broker.

It has a special place in my heart, because my father was an entrepreneur that had to close his business down after 30 years.

We were unaware of alternative funding at the time. Yes, rates/terms suck compared to a traditional business loan from the bank. But, when you need money asap, and dont have the credit for a traditional loan, I believe alternative funding is a great option, and that may have saved my fathets business (he generated 1.5 million per year in revenue, had to close during covid).

Anyway, I believe there are a lot of businesses owners that need this option & this type of funding.

Can anyone give me any advice in how/where to start?

I want to be a 1099 broker, where I connect the business owners with thr financial institutions. I dont want to underwrite loans, so I don’t believe any licensing is needed?

I am located in California. Currently do home improvement sales, and it has been great for me, but I have no passion or drive in this industry besides the money.

Let me start off by saying, I know I got extremely lucky today…

So for some reason, all my friends think I am weird because I dash as a hobby

Im currently in the home improvement sales industry. Been doing this for 2 years now, and I average about 20k-40k in commissions monthly. If I can match that, I would be happy.

There are personal reasons why i’m looking to get inti the business loan industry. I enjoy helping people. I actually joined the home improvement sales industry because its the #1 industry for consumer complaints, and I wanted to help try to make a change.

I have been an entrepreneur in my past life for 10 years, and I remember how amazing it fekt when I finally got approved for a business loan. Unfortunately I was so desperate for money, I didn’t understand or even care to look over the details. I was in a situation where my business was going to close down & I couldn’t afford upcoming payroll, so I just didnt care. Unfortunately after securing the loan, I found out there were much better options I could have taken.

So yeah, thats pretty much why I want to get into the industry. I want to help businesses survive, and help business owners find the right loan for them.

I have a great idea & dont know what to do with it. Everyone ive told about the idea has told me its genius. I know it would be a great app/website as well, just dont know howbto proceed.
