For some reason, this entire campaign and announcement was mailed in.

The cherry on top was the half-hearted video call announcement with the hosts' backs to the finalist.

With that said, Daniel Jackson was the clear winner, so no issues there.

I played elite-level travel ball from ages 9 to 18-to D1-to Drafted-to Pro Ball.

I’ve been around the game and seen it from every angle as a student, player, prospect, and coach.

I want to be a resource for players/parents.

Almost all players know how to determine a "win" as it relates season to season, series to series, game to game. The answer if you won or lost those is clearly defined.

Even inning to inning is defined, but players have a hard time knowing if they "won the inning," its something I heard and preached a lot. Especially when it comes to close games or guys struggling on the mound. Find a way to win the inning. If there are no runs scored, you have to know who made mistakes and had better effort. Sounds like little kid stuff but when you watch a lot of baseball, you can feel it at every level.

AB to AB: Having the ability to flush it. Youre going to K, youre going to get a lucky single, youre going to an At-Him ball. This shit is guaranteed in this sport. You have to take all three of those results and feel the same. Notice I didnt say Home Run. If you hit a bomb, stay in the same mindset. stay locked. The vast majority of ABs dont immediately follow a HR.

By going AB to AB you can stack what Ive always know as QABs (Quality ABs). You can strike out and have a QAB if you made the pitcher work.

You move a guy over from 2nd to 3rd early: QAB.

HBP on a 2 strike count: QAB.

Went from an 0-2 to a 3-2 count: QAB.

Jammed on a FB first pitch and weak grounder to pitcher: X no QAB

Once you see enough, you can feel it. Ill answer in the comments if something is a QAB or not if you cant determine.

Out to Out: In the field, you have to always prep step and have the ability to get back into the game regardless of the previous outcome. So many young ballplayers get stuck in their head after the duff a flyball in the OF and then they have no idea where to throw the ball next and so ensues the snowball fight. Have to stop that mentally in the players head and play out to out.

Pitch to Pitch: You ability to have an approach, have good takes, understand what the pitcher is doing, working the count etc. Those are wins that should be celebrated. Wanna hear a loud dugout, go to any college game and watch an 8-Hole hitter foul off 3 or 4 pitches. Coach is marking that down. They love that shit, and it gives your team momentum.

Finally thought by thought: probably the hardest, but having the ability to put yourself in the headspace of the ballplayer you want to ultimately be. So many players have a million things and life and girls and fortnite and whatever. Its all fine, but you have to find the ability to lock in on a thought-by-thought basis in this game if you want to be any good at it. Its spread across the whole field and its what separates the top % of players. You can always hear a good dugout, not by the loud cheers and all that eyewash, but by the conversations they are having pitch by pitch player by player coach by coach. Idk if you watch the CWS this year but OU put on a masterclass at this. They were a small win team and they won the biggest game in college baseball.

OU has to stop swinging first pitch and needs to force UNC’s arms into deep counts. The Sooners are doing UNC’s pitching work for them.

LaChance is the heartbeat of this team, but he clanked way too many balls and gave them too many free 90s. . They need a clean, fundamental defensive game to keep the tempo

OU ran 7 pitchers out to the mound yesterday. They need their starter to get through the lineup at least twice.

They cannot count on getting hot mid-game. They have to set the tempo early, as they did in the 1st inning of Game 2, but maintain the patient at-bats and a professional approach. 

UNC has shown they can weather an early punch and fight through bad innings to minimize. They strung together a ton of QABs that lead to some crooked numbers. 

If they notice LaChance or the OU defense looking rattled, UNC needs to be aggressive on the basepaths and own the tempo. 

They have championship DNA across the board. They lose it when the game moves too fast on them. Work the counts and feed off a bullpen that you basically saw the totality of in Game 2.

Pay attention to the 3rd inning or the 2nd time around the order for the starter. If either team can get through that relatively unscathed, they'll be our National Champs
