The one mental skill that separates college players from high school players

Played college ball and the biggest adjustment wasn't physical — it was mental. The guys who lasted learned how to move on from mistakes faster than anyone else. A bad at-bat in the first inning had zero carry over to the second. A bad game had zero carry over to the next day.
Most high school players carry mistakes with them the entire game. College players learn to let it go almost immediately. That skill is trainable but nobody explicitly teaches it.
What do you think the biggest mental adjustment is going from high school to college ball?

Jay Johnson continues his torrid pace in the portal with the transfer of Freshman All American OF Angel Laya from Oregon.

Hit .296 with 14 HR’s, 47 RBI’s and 10 doubles for the Ducks.

Per Baseball America’s rankings, this gives the Tigers the 2nd (Watters), 3rd (Hood) and 6th (Laya) ranked transfers in the individual portal rankings.

Still could use some LHPs but I imagine Jay has maxed out his funds.

I brought a little rover to a baseball game and this is what happened

One of my favorite things about baseball is the atmosphere outside the stadium before the first pitch.

So I brought along a little rover (I called it Irra) to see if it could add to the fun.

I filled it with candy and cheering lights, and drove it outside LG Twins baseball game in Seoul. I honestly didn't expect so many people to notice. Seeing complete strangers smile, laugh, and interact with it before the game made the whole project worth it.

Here's a short video of it. If your college baseball stadium had one of these driving around before the game, would you say hi?

The Complete Showcase - A Fraud

Did anyone get this email, they state 100 college coaches in one spot, I said wow, this is great, you go on the vent page and 70 of the guys have a V next to their name and says will be attending virtually. How do they get away that? Now I make sure to sign up for ones where the guys actually will be. Make sure to avoid these frauds. OUT AN OUT FRAUD. Email is over 100 in one spot.

5 things I learned from college baseball that nobody talks about

Played college ball and looking back there were things I wish someone had told me way earlier that had nothing to do with mechanics or stats.

  1. your body language tells coaches everything before you even touch a bat
  2. coachability separates players faster than talent does
  3. the mental game is trainable — most guys just never work on it
  4. effort is the one thing you can control on your worst days
  5. The players who last aren't always the most gifted — they're the most consistent
Any of these resonate? Curious what this community would add to the list.

The Golden Spikes Ceremony was a disaster. With record-high ratings for this year's NCAA Tournament and College World Series, this is a massive missed opportunity and honestly embarrassing. They should move the ceremony to the CWS off-day before the Finals.

For some reason, this entire campaign and announcement was mailed in.

The cherry on top was the half-hearted video call announcement with the hosts' backs to the finalist.

With that said, Daniel Jackson was the clear winner, so no issues there.

Mississippi State lands transfer RHP Thomas Allen

Allen had a strong freshman season at Louisiana Tech, going 5-3 with a 3.54 ERA in 19 appearances. He was primarily a reliever (only one start), throwing 48.1 innings with 49 strikeouts, holding opponents to a .195 batting average, and recording 5 saves.

His performance earned him Conference USA All-Freshman honors and NCBWA Second Team Freshman All-American recognition.
