Hey here are some themes of my characters from a story I’m planning named “Icarus” . Not all themes equate back to the myth but a lot do. I want to get anyone’s opinion on the story. If improve on some themes or if they are better not forced. Also if this isn’t the place to put this inform me.

Dyiana Oba: Dyiana is one of the 4 characters the represents the skies Icarus and Daedalus flew through. Dyiana is the ocean which can be seen as calm yet dangerous when mistreated. Neither royalty or oceans should be disrespected. Doing so can lead to death easy. It’s best to be careful yet but not be tense. The sea is also the first thing you would see once you fall. You could either fear its unknowns or rejoice knowing you once flew. Her representation is not just how she affects others but how her own will isn’t truly hers. Oceans to be clear. Are just water pulled by greater forces. The storms that follow her are as much the sky above her as her own.
The people above her have more control over whats happens. Dyiana has to a man she would rather not but understands it’s not necessary but wasn’t her choice to begin with. Any past suitors she washed away her only because her parents let her waves free.
Changing perspective, she herself is in the water. Instead of drowning she just learned to swim. This ties into her power and growth. As the swim she still at thr win to natural but knowing to swim at least gives her more freedom. Having ways to show she wants to help her country and people. Even if her ideas aren’t approved it’s better than drowning. Aside from the ocean stuff she is pressured by being royal. She be to a certain standard. she can’t lack in any way or she is scene as failing. every and anything that could be seen as a negative has already been used against her. Just another reason she has to learn to swim.

Celeste Oba: Celeste is the chill. The wind blowing on you when you’re flying. The water cooling you as you swim. The chill you feel as the nerves get to you. The embrace of death. No matter how you came up you felt nervous before. The important part is where that stress comes from. Many including Celeste want to prove something; the want to never feel or be seen as weak. her powers speaks to this as her many ability comes from winning. But one loss can lead to losing it all no matter how many wins were taken before. Powers turned the uselessness. Another reason some feel a freezing pressure. A bird can fly all it once but letting the chills get to it once means never flying again. If you only ever been above it all losing everything would seem like the end. You’d have no idea how to swim
These Celeste also puts these chills on Dyiana and Icarus. Making them not only scared of the flight but cautioning them of the fall. Getting used to the chills is something that is necessary to truly succeed. Even someone like a queen could struggle from it.

Draco Oba: Oba is the sun. Have you ever looked up the sun. Maybe if not literally, you would want to stand out. You can feel its presence even when indoors, even when you can’t see it. Even the absence can be as unnerving as the intensity. People still be look up to Draco he is as respected as he is feared. He is a king and has helped to grow his kingdom and keep the cycle of life manageable. He is also happy to give advice. Some want to be close to him maybe even be him. Coming so close to a sun if the glare doesn’t warn you the temp will. The heat can will only be a warning for so long until it just hurts.
Oba is also what you could see as necessary in a ruler. The throne isn’t comfortable. You could withstand anything the tries to stop you, or mold yourself into the obstacle. But going beyond your limits can lead to well burning out. Which is why once his wife wanted to take the lead he gladly let her take the heat

Gore is the king Minos, and a man who has only ever filed. As one of the dragons gore hates the gods. They are the reason he lost his family. But similarly to Minos could only punish those in his reach. Gore wants to kill humans since their creation is lead to his near extinction. He doesn’t care about whether they held the sword I knew a guy he did he wants them all gone. The burdens of failure weighs heavy. Knowing what it’s like to fails is terrible. Even the idea of not having the goal yet, scared him. So he rose higher and higher until his tank went empty. He held no moderation and promote not a debate. He set to kill all that he want or stood in his way. Gore barely considered the effects of wanting this goal he just wanted revenge.

Leak smiled as he fell as he knew to fall meant once to soar. This is the most loose connection I have. Leaks is a goblin seen as rouge even for goblins. He doesn’t appreciate his own race, he understands how they are perceived. Being seen as a goblin is being seen as dirty, as a slave, as dirt. Even his magic separates himself from his tribe. He can control his own blood His hatred tries him it’s the reason he wants strength. No matter how much he would want to abandon his identity. He only ends up more of what he is made out to be violent and dirty fights as he separates himself. He doesn’t want the acceptance they begin to gain. It’s fake to him. Leaks goes from hating who he is to being too proud to change from his roots. Down to putting everything he has into an attack just for a better chance the world can be safer for his people

Icarus is the anchor for all of this. He kinda is a combination of all the previous. From birth he was already in the water. He was only paddling his way through life. And even once he was saved to choose to stay with the ocean. Nothing wrong with swimming but the skies is what you should aim for. The sun appealed to him told him that if he’s gonna be in the water he should do it comfortably
He knew there was more to be had but the world above the see is filled with danger he doesn’t understand. So he fought. He fought
to protect those he loves. He fought to better his city. Not every fight involved fists and when it did he would want it to be last resort. Inverted to Gore. If talking it out is possible he choose that option. But such narrow minded thinking isn’t right even with good will. The unknown winds got to him the waves humbled him. And once he unlocked water magic not only could he recover from these lows more easily, but his perspective grew. The facade of only fighting to protect was thin. It’s an excuse anyone could use. The point of being that high is to know when to make the rough choices. When had to leadership his motive where self preservation. As his influence grew, so did those who were affected by his actions. What he did needed to be thought out well. Killing those who needed to die is part of a change he reached. Even if was more then he could chew it would be fine.

I know that Karane x Hakari is the main ship but I feel like you could ship most family with each other. And it’s crazy, you could see them realistically adding some of these ships to the canon right?

Magic in the world of Apollo flows thought out all living things this magic can be controlled by understanding how is flows through your body speeding up the flow in hands in feet can increase strength and speed the flow can also be sped up in the Brain but that can cause brain damage

The gods are the originators of all magic. They live in a realm similar to heaven and are made completely out of magic they can use the magic of any thing can have created their original creation, the dragons can use element magic such as fire, water, wind, earth, electricity and ice they can also use life and mental magic. (Explaining later) the dragons had a problem with the gods form of punishment. Scatter is used to disturb someone flow of magic causing it to leak out, Since the Anma were made of pure magic this lead to death. Some drakes were afraid that this could mean scattering would take their abilities if not kill them.
So they spoke out and got thrown into a void. But using their magic they turned this void into a planet. Some tried to use runes they remember from their time with the gods to make a portal back to them. Instead of interfering directly they made more creations and sent them to Apollo once human were made they lead to the end of the dragons. Their end gave humans time to discover how to use runes to make a portal to earth.
Magic Expertise or just Expertise is the magic that the people in Apollo use. Each race has a different Expertise they can use and there are differences within those as well.

Runes are letters that have their own flow. The letters cant use their own flow ofc but with the help of someone they can the rune can do something depending the letter

Dragons can use element magic mentioned before. Life magic serves as not just healing but and used to create life. In some instances simple plant control in other examples can revival. Mental magic can read the flow of their opponents to tell where attacks are coming from, or make their own unpredictable.

Humans can use some elemental magic as well fire, water, wind, earth, and wind. Their our other expertise that are less natural. Steel make is manipulation of the magic within raw and cooked metals. Time magic is the use of time stored within objects people can store objects with time mostly time keeping devices.
Time magic can be used to heal or send an opponent back to a past position. There is only time where you can use it attack it’s called paradox it’s when you speed up and flow down time at the same time. This move can damage the user as well.

Elves can use are able to to use light in order to heal wounds. Their healing is more effective since it doesn’t require stored time in order to some elves can use light to attack instead of heal. Many orders older elves have the ability to wield a form on life magic that can revive people. All elven settlements have at least one elder who can revive this power is past down though the generation. Elves are intelligent and are most commonly scholars and advisors outside their community. Elves hate goblins and dark elves

Dark elves are essential the opposite to Elves instead of light they spread deadly poisons. These attacks can appear as liquid slashes of sludge, or enveloping smoke dark elves are banned from most human cites because of their powers. They were one of the main reason the dragon went extinct behind well humans.
Dark elves hate elves

Demi humans can read the flow of an opponent to dodge attacks. They can also increase the animal part of their body claws,leg, jaws etc.
Demi’s are often enslaved their transformation take time which means solid ambushes can take them down easily. Their ability to read moves makes them entertaining as well. Demis hate humans and love goblins

Goblins are versatile they can creative invisible hands to steal objects and transform their bodies into materials they injested. They can’t turn into anything non solid and the denser or less natural the material the longer it take before transforming is possible. This ability wasn’t used often since most who did use it ended up petrifying themselves. They are most common enslaved race since they are weak physically

Orcs are able to control both their bones and muscle mass combat. These can be used as blades, and increasing strength. Proficient orcs can even turn their own muscles into whips or nets. Orcs are really peaceful no one bothers them since they are tuff to fight and all they want to do is eat. Smaller orcs are usually envied; being able to walk in cities without drawing attention.

Of course if their were to be an interracial baby he would have a combination of his parents experience. Example, a half human half elf would have a elemental healing instead of light

Ironfront is one of the most powerful kingdoms in Apollo. They are ruled by Draco Oba, Celeste Oba. Their heir is Dyiana Oba. Since Ironfront owning one of the two earth portals in Apollo, arraigned marriage were attempted but dismissed by princess Dyiana. However, the dismissals caused many to be wary about the heir and the crowns control over her. Their reputation turned poor. Celeste and Draco had no choice but to marry her to another powerful kingdom
This way also dismissed after a interruption by Icarus

Personalities

Dyiana is a calm and kind lady however she is also vocal and protective of herself and her kingdom. She was the one who found Icarus and took him out of slavery when she got lost herself. She kept him around as someone to tell her ideas too since she often feels unheard.

Draco is the current king of Ironfront he is very docile and focuses most his effort on the economy. Draco lets his wife handle all other matters and speaks when asked for. He treats everyone with respect especially Icarus and his daughter.

Celeste is the in who runs the kingdom. From. walking around the streets to foreign affairs she does it all by choice. Her blood line is known for being dangerous, their rep is the initial reason she married Draco. It was her idea to keep Icarus around; Just so he could protect Dyiana

Grey is the royal advisor to the crown unlike the royalty he isnt human he is an elf which is common in advisors. He is intelligent, but shunned in his village for only being able to make smoke and dust instead of healing light. He really doesn’t like Icarus

That is the basic info on them I’m not sure if I can talk about their abilities here if I can please let me know

Icarus is a story centered around a goblin named Icarus. He lives in a kingdom called Ironfront. He was originally a Slave who was saved by the
kingdoms royals. He plans to become the goblin prince, so he can marry the princess Dyiana.

There are also portals that connect the magic world of Apollo, and a version of our earth. People often isekai themselves to learn magic and adventure. These portals are profitable for both Apollo and earth

Each race has their own type of magic and ways of living. They include:
Humans
Demi-humans
Goblins
Dragons
Elves & Dark elves
