Beach pup dreadlocks

Its still winter here in Australia, but im hopefully looking for suggestions before it starts to get more into beach time. I have a 18 month old border collie who loves the beach. This summer will be her second with me and I need advice in how to keep her fur from being matted. She absolutely loves swimming in the sea then rolling in the sand and it just creates huge dreads. Last summer I just spent forever with the conditioner picking them out, but is there a better way? Any one have any products they use. Her fur also gets quite dry and heat damaged is there something for that??

Is there a manual for this?

Im a single 22F and i have just bought my first home and I'm still getting used to living alone. I want to make my home a really cozy place that all my visitors will love and remember but I dont really know where to start. I've started a lemon8 account dedicated my journey and ideas, but thats as far as I've got really. Oh, and I've started collecting lamps instead of overhead lights. How do you all learn this? Any tips or anything you can tell me will be greatly appreciated

How do I keep my neighbors sheep out of my paddock?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but we own a small hobby farm with just a few cows, but our neighbors sheep keep breaking through the fence into our paddock. It's beginning to get extremely annoying, we've asked the neighbors to fix the fence, but they only tried poorly and the sheep only break down those attempts. My grandfather has tried putting thick sticks in the ground right against the fence to create and barrier and the sheep break through that as well. It's a daily issue of having to hunt them out of our paddock and they're eating our grass and feed when there is plenty of green lush grass and feed in their own paddock. My grandfather has also tried electric fencing, but obviously that didn't work and they broke that as well. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Farm fit, gym weak

Why are dumbbells so much heavier than everything else. Tried to lift a 10kg weight and nearly died. 20kg bags and drums are way lighter. Is this a skill issue?

Smacking children as a displine measure is different from Australia?

Edit: thank you for all the responses, so glad that was just tiktok misinformation! I'll have to cut the text body for this edit for the word limit, but hopefully no newcomers get confused. Im from Australia, and im was raised with a smack on the bum for bad attitude.I've been on tiktok and alot of people are saying how bad it is, its child abuse and that it registers as sexual assault in a childs mind. Them I found out that Americans are snacking their children PANTS DOWN?!? (Which is outrageous) Is this commonplace or just some people. Is this why so many people have a problem with it?

August Already!?!?!

Happy Saturday and Happy 1st of the month! Harvest time is nearly upon us. Time to dust of the header and re build the comb I guess (fml). Shearing somewhere in the middle there too for us. And before that even, fathers day! Dont forget to order your dad a present while your sitting on the tractor (or toliet). September will be here before you can curse at a sheep. Men's mental health is especially important in the farming community so make sure the dads in your life know you appreciate them and their draws/sheds full of random shit! Your bros will appreciate the effort even if they'll never tell you so! #nohomo #loveyourbros

Total Newbie

I've just bought a house that needs quite a bit of work. I say just but I've been living in it for a few months now. The problem is I have no idea were or how to start and Im actually a bit ashamed to admit it. I'm a farm hand by trade so power tools, maintenance and manual labour should be really easy for me (but thats an insecurity for another time). So far, I've ripped out carpet in one room, picked my main paint colours and im planning to get a new roof put on early next year, but other than that im sort of lost. I've done some trials for my main paint colour and the last paint is gloss so i can easily just scrape it off. I dont know what primers to use or how to get the best finish/ retention for the new paint. There is so much information everywhere! If any one has any tips or tricks I'll take them all!!

Work vs home life

How do you distinguish when you are on and off the clock? And i know, i know, I can smell the "what's off the clock mean?, you guys are getting time off?" A mile away.

Syngenta pulling out

Syngenta has announced that it is ending all sales and production of paraquat-containing products in Australia and New Zealand. The commercial exit follows stricter application restrictions introduced by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) alongside rising supply chain costs and generic competition.

#keep the sheep

WA, you good? We've heard alot about this in the past however many years from when the idea was first put forward. Is this impacting the abattoirs at all (for better or worse)? Why are people getting out of sheep (or so I've heard, feel free too weigh in or correct me) just from stopping live shipping if there are still abattoirs?

Herding dog troubleshooting

I have a border collie sheep dog that is just crazy. The second she isn't allowed to engage with the sheep, she off doing something else, finding something circle or a stick to play with, digging a hole or just running. Nothing has tried. I have tried all sorts of pushiments and rewards. How do I get her to just stop? She crates well and if she is tried up in the shearing shed on a bed she is fine, but any where else, No. I need ideas!!

Training help!!

My girls is 18 months old and is a great backing dog, but im trying to teach her herding and having problems. I have waited this long because I thought she might grow up a bit more and I was waiting for her to develop her eye, but I dont think she will until after I start training her. The problem I am having with her is that she is psychotic. I mean crazy crazy. This is what makes her a great yard dog because she is all push and go with no boundaries (think red/blue heeler) but im trying to refine her. Ive tried the cone exercise (make her go around a cone each way to get treats) and for the first 1 repetition she is good. Until she learns it and its a game, when she disregards the rules and jumps the cones/ flattens it. How do I rein in this energy? How do I teach calm!?!?!
