Computers in the Avatar World

Computers in the Avatar World

Source: azy_arty on IG

The source is an artist who worked on the show.

Keep in mind this comes from an animatic made based on a meme audio. It’s in no way an actual clip or rough animatic from the show… at least, I don’t think it is.

In this animatic, the artist includes Jae sitting with someone else in the same uniform in front of a monitor. There’s a console with buttons. On the monitor is a map of the world of Avatar.

This may be a hint at how advanced the technology has gotten. If Korra’s time is set in the 1920s, and she dies roughly in her 50s, then this would somewhat match our world with the dawn of computing.

27 M4A - Looking for Friends or Connections

Really not looking for sex. Looking for friends or to build FL connections!

Miami native here working an office job, occasional gaming (especially Rocket League), love TV and movies. You don’t have to be in Miami to hit me up, I love having pen pals/internet friends to chat with. Starting my doctorate soon, love Italian food, love kayaking, love to chat. Don’t care about your gender or your age. Anyone around?

Bose QC Ultra 2 and bluetooth or multipoint connection difficulties

Was connected to my phone and TV. Wanted to switch fully to my phone, app told me to disconnect from the TV, I did, and the headphones connected to nothing. Phone shows them as paired but fails to connect every time. App is inaccessible without an active connection, so there’s no way back in without jumping through hoops.

This isn’t a one-time thing — it keeps happening. For a $300 product where multipoint is a marquee feature, it shouldn’t require troubleshooting every time you switch devices.

Anyone else dealing with this repeatedly? Has anything actually stuck as a long-term fix?

I’m sorry for asking instead of Googling. For one, I’m not a techie person. For another, I scoured this Reddit and found SO many conflicting comments.

I was under the impression that, as a standalone device, the Frame could run HL: Alyx. Some YouTubers and articles have said yes, others have said no. Some comments on this very subreddit have said yes, others have said no.

So what’s the answer? I haven’t played HL:A since my old headset gave up the ghost.

And can I play traditional games with my mouse and keyboard, standalone? Or is that a streaming thing only? If you want to help give me some perspective, let’s use my favorite series as a litmus test. Can I play these games standalone: Half Life 1? Half Life 2? Black Mesa? HL: A?

Tl;dr confused about what the Frame can do on its own vs. streaming from another PC. I thought the Frame WAS a PC. Thank you for taking the time to help me!

Hi,

I’m really excited about the SF. From what I’ve read, I’m expecting my hopes on this to be dashed. I’m wondering how practical it would be to use the SF for productivity.

I don’t mean anything too intense. I mean like, while wearing it, can I have one virtual screen with Netflix playing while I have another window that lets me edit a document, a spreadsheet, write an email in outlook, use Claude etc?

Assuming I just do some basic office work, could I use this thing as my primary PC? Hope I’m not asking the dumbest question ever, and if I am, hope you can go easy on me.

Thanks!
