Basically down to a mic, PA, and a PO-33 out of hardship 😔 I’ve owned and sold a number of samplers and synths, most recently EP-40, Roland P-6 and S-1.
On the other hand, I may very soon have the budget to try something Big-Time like an OP-1 or XY if I can justify it…
Until today, I was just going to cobble together a Dawless Backpack Rig with more low and mid-range equipment. Anyone out there prefer their OP unit to a rig of lesser stuff? And assuming I do more live playing to deep sequencing, which is the better choice?
After some years of financial hardship enough to cause the loss of my old sound equipment, and put me in a state of housing crisis, things are finally about to turn around.
The Question is what would you select for a Single Backpack for your musical self?
Primarily a vocalist, I’ve been working on learning to do as much as I can on my own. Eclectic/undedicated as far as styles.
During my Hard Times, I’ve snatched up some newer stuff, and sold that too 😢 to get by. Pocket Operators, Electribe 2 Sampler, Seqtrak, Roland S-1 and P-6, EP-40 Riddim, Kaoss stuff.
Hard Times also left me somewhat ready to travel and explore- so I want a rig I can tote along. Maybe with a couple things to swap in and out.
Definitely set on having the basics-synth/keys, sampler, probably some dedicated effects. Already have a Busker amp, and some mics, another PO-33 (because there was a Void), digital recorder. I’m also one that will both prepare loops etc, but typically prefers live playing over extensive sequencing.
I’m all over the place-kinda leaning towards channeling smaller stuff into an SP 404mk2 for effects, looping, Skip Back Recording. But what about the OP-1 and XY? I may have the budget…
I appreciate the input 😃🙏❤️
