Really beautiful devices.
Have not try it yet. Waiting for some wires…

Have not try it yet. Waiting for some wires…
So I've seen many videos of how to use EP and read their documentation which is super nice tbh and in-depth. But I want to see if I can learn more. Tell me your favorite tutorials/tutorial series for EP devices!
Hi-thoughts from users of the OP-XY
I have a Digitakt, Grandmother, Microcosm pedal, Ableton
I'm hoping to downgrade the amount of things I have (Yes, I want less gear), less things to learn and plug in. And want to be portable
Q. OPXY short comings, is it synth capabilities or fx processing?
Would u keep (OPXY+PEDAL or OPXY+SYNTH)
I won't get to try one out where I live and I dont really have the funds for everything
I'd still mixdown / finish tracks in DAW
Music genre is similar to artists like (Four tet, Overmono, BOC)
Cheers
Just got my EP 136 today. Hooked up one channel with the OP-XY and the other is usb audio from the iPad.. pretty insane what this can achieve. I bought the EP 136 for its cue output as now I can loop the XY with the iPad and pre listen while I jam with friends.
What makes it special is that I have OPXY controlled by loopy’s great touch interface, over Bluetooth midi, which means even less cables.
I will try this with my Analog4 and DN2 as well, without the Bluetooth midi of course.
The only issue is that there’s no way to turn off analog audio out - this means I cannot put software effects on the OPXY 🤷
Any one experiencing this? I have a breakbeat sample on track one scene 1 and when switching to the next scene with a different break beat sample the previous sample continues to play on top of the next scene until it has finished. Normally when switching scenes the music would stop from the previous one.
Between parenthood, work and paying bills, there are small windows of time to sample. This is what came out of 2 samples on the EP133, running the sound through the PO33 as a soft clipper (dibiase tip).
Thanks for reading!
I haven't posted about this topic before, and I'm not the developer or anyone working directly on the project, but I've seen a few posts in the past and have been following along since the Lines forum days. I didn't see a post added to the TE subreddit and I thought it was relevant to share. Mods: I checked the subreddit rules and didn't see any rules being broken, so I thought it'd be okay.
As many know, this unreleased device was previously limited to playback of a single album. There is now an option to upload your own stems to the device (which has ~3.3GB memory with the previous album removed, or about an hour of stemmed audio)! I have tested and confirmed it's working! Best of all, it's using the original firmware and the stem transfer utility is totally free and open source! So all of the original functionality works!
I know there are probably questions that are going to come up - I'd encourage you to check out the help page and check the Lines forum (although the topic is closed, it still has all the initial details). All the instructions on the Help page were great too.

Anyway, here's my device! I uploaded a few of my songs on it and it sounds awesome! Have a great day!
The OG1 is providing melody & bass sequenced into Ableton.
I'm really interested in buying an EP-40 along with a Sidekick. I have a ton of vintage gear and grew up on the old school MPCs including the 60. I've got a PO-33, PO-16, and OP-Z which I use mostly outside of the studio, and finish tracks later in the studio. They get a TON of use. I also have an OB-4, which is one of my favorite things I own, and I learn new things every day (did you know you can save a loop while Sliding the loop, and the glitchy slides will get recorded in the Disk Mode loops? I just realized this last night).
I love the OB-4 looping and I actually sample from it quite a bit. I am obsessed with the Slide feature as that's something I've never seen in anything else before, and I feel like it would be SO powerful in a sampler. The EP-40 manual states: "the LOOP function is inspired by our beloved OB–4 magic radio" and shows a diagram stating that the Slide function from the OB-4 is present. However, I've yet to see anyone show this off. The one video I found, they just showed looping and dividing the loop length. How does Sliding work, can you record/sequence slides within a loop? If not, can you resample yourself messing with the Loop/Slides? When resampling, is it easy to capture a perfect x-bar phrase, or will trimming always have to be done? One more question: varispeed. How does the "vinyl-style time stretch" mode work? It seems it has to be in the Live State, which I don't fully understand. Can I create and resample a loop while in the varispeed time stretched live state? Could I record a sample/phrase/loop at 120bpm, change the EP tempo to 60bpm, record a new phrase, put it back to 120 and now that new loop is double speed (tape style)? Can I just always keep it in vinyl time stretch mode? I only use regular time stretching for effect and don't like the artifacts from it - one of the reasons why I didn't gel with the Octatrack despite buying it extremely early on in 2011. I prefer the varispeed style recording found in many loop pedals, and of course tape machines.
I want to use the EP-40 for live performance and for quick loop capture and mangling. I also want to dub mix using these loops, doing mutes and delay throws. I'd like to quickly capture perfect loops, without pressing stop, and put them on a pad. From there, messing with the Slide function and recording that, or resampling if needed. Bring these loops in and out and dub them out. Resample. Rinse and repeat. Basically, I want a destructive dub mixing sampler with varispeed - the EP-40 on paper sounds like it can do all of this. Sorry for the long winded explanation, I just really want to know if it's what I'm looking for!
I am trying to incorporate the Torso T-1 sequencer into my DAWless setup and have each of it's 16 tracks assigned throughout my various machines. The only thing is that when the OP-XY enters the equation, it seems like it is ALWAYS listening on channels 1-8 which control instruments 1-8 respectively. Even if I set the active channel in the midi settings to a particular channel, it will play all instruments 1-8 that have midi sequencing meant for devices further down the chain.
Has anyone solved for this, or is this device just not meant to be sequenced?
It happens when connected to Op-xy via USB. Everything works but all of a sudden it stops. Happens even no music is played. Official Support has not yet responded :-(
Beside that - great piece of gear !
contento con mi nueva configuracion
A friend Walked on this during a studio session He almost knocked over my OP-1 field at the same time 😂
