I previously posted about being really nervous in job interviews and not knowing how long I should spend preparing. I got some really great advice from everyone, so thank you!

I have now got another interview, and the hiring manager called me beforehand to say she’s going to send the interview questions to all candidates in advance because she knows how nerve-wracking interviews can be.

She also said it won’t be a traditional interview and there won’t be a test or anything like that. She even said I can have notes/sticky notes all over my laptop 😂

I thought this was really lovely and it’s made me feel so much less anxious about the interview. Just wanted to share a positive update!

I’m looking for some career advice. manager is rapidly increasing the scope of my role with responsibilities that are very different from my job description, while continually adding new permanent tasks without removing or deprioritising any existing work. This is all happening very quickly ahead of a planned restructure.

Everything is treated as a priority, there are multiple competing deadlines and not enough time to realistically complete everything within my working hours.

When I raise the workload/capacity issue, rather than discussing what should be deprioritised, my manager asks whether I need more training, whether I need help with diary management, or suggests reviewing how long I spend on each task to see where I can make more time.

I’m finding it really stressful it feels like no matter how much work I get through, more just keeps being added. I’m struggling to see how this is sustainable without something being taken off my workload.

I’ve been on MJ and I’m currently stuck at 5mg. Whenever I try to move up to 7.5mg, I get side effects (mainly diarrhoea and stomach discomfort), so I’ve had to go back down.

The problem is that 5mg doesn’t seem to be working as well anymore, I’m feeling really hungry again and the appetite suppression has definitely worn off.

Would really appreciate any advice.

Returning to my room to find it constantly overflowing with fresh Arabic coffee, dates, and sweets has been such a beautiful, welcoming touch.

I wanted to ask how long people spend preparing for interviews.

I feel exhausted from preparing so much for interviews and then not getting the outcome I was hoping for. I’m wondering what a “normal” amount of preparation is or if I’m overdoing it. (One week)

Would really appreciate hearing how others approach it, especially how you balance preparation without burning out.
