I’m a recreational mechanic who likes working on 90s and early 2000s Toyota awd’s and 4wd’s (Landcruisers, Prados, Surfs, Hiluxes, Ravs). To spice it up a bit, also 1^(st) gen Mercedes Sprinters for some reason.

Most of these vehicles aren’t throwing codes but clearly have something wrong with them, so I’m hoping to use a scan tool to narrow down and isolate issues. I’m willing to spend more to have bi-directional control to do this.

It seems like a lot of the popular scanners are USA focussed or don’t cover the Japan import models or Mercedes, so looking for something that covers these.

Any suggestions?
