Period underwear vs reusable pads? Recommendations for brands needed!

I have been an avid pad user for most of my time dealing with periods but it seems like I am starting to become extremely irritated by them more and more each period to the point where I think it might even be an allergy?

I have heard nothing but good things about menstrual cups and discs but if I can be real with y’all I don’t particularly enjoy having to put things inside myself and dig things out so I don’t really want to try those when there are so many other options available.

I need something good for heavy flow days that has as full of coverage as possible and I have tried doing research on this but I never know which companies have paid reviews and which ones are real, and I don’t have a whole lot of money to throw around to be testing out different kinds myself.

Thanks in advance guys!! I’m about to be working and not on the phone for a while so I will reply as soon as possible!

Today’s ADHD Tax: $250 and possibly traumatizing my cat

Today like every day I took one half of my Adderall pill and put the other half on my nightstand for me to put in my travel pill bottle as I leave the house for the day, only today I decided to stay in, and so I left my half pill on my nightstand while I was laying in the bed with my cats. Only today, my little gremlin decided to try to eat the pill, and it literally happened so fast before I could do anything (and she’s literally not even allowed on my nightstand anyway).

So instantly I go to grab her and she runs away and hides so I start googling and decide to call the vet, who says to bring her in so they can try to induce vomiting and flush her with fluids. So I give a cursory glance to the floor to make sure she actually ate it, and then I work on trying to catch her.

So I take her to the vet and they sedate her and put her on the little machine that makes her spin around to try to make her sick, and they try and try and try but are unsuccessful, so they say she’s going to have to spend the night at the emergency vet about 50 minutes away and that will cost $600 minimum (which is a lot for me).

But the emergency vet route takes me by my house and I was not 100% sure that she swallowed the pill, so I wanted to make sure I couldn’t find the pill on the floor as well as grab a water bottle for the road.

And I find the pill on the floor where she had run with it in her mouth and then dropped it. Ugh. So I have to call the vet and tell them to tell the emergency vet that I’m not coming after all, and then I get her inside and I realize she’s still got a catheter in her arm, so me and my nurse aunt work on taking it out and I know we were hurting her because the tape is on her fur only for the vet to call me an hour later to tell me I could’ve just brought her in in the morning for them to take it out 😭😭

So I feel like a really bad cat mom today. 1) being too lazy to keep my pills out of reach 2) not looking hard enough to make sure she actually ate the pill 3) just acting impulsively to take the catheter out ourselves instead of thinking for a second that the vet would happily do it for me

I gave her lots of treats and I made her a little enrichment box which I might post the video of later but I feel so bad about it because she still has tape on her arm that I’m gonna have to work to get off and as I’m typing this I realize I could’ve just told the vet we couldn’t get the tape off and I could’ve taken her in the morning to get it off but I’m so embarrassed bro and the whole situation was so embarrassing for me too but I just feel so bad for putting my cat through that.

EDIT: Yes I have learned my lesson and will be more careful with my pills :) and also after the two of us calmed down I was able to get the tape off really easily. Thanks to everyone who replied and made me feel better 🩵🩵🩵
