M1905 ignorance.

I recently came across this M1905 bayonet. It’s stamped RIA (1907) and has the serial number 83,469 on the opposite side. The blade has been parkerized I believe, and I don’t think the scabbard is correct either. Its this a reproduction, or was it possibly refinished? Thank you in advance for any insight someone much more knowledgeable can offer me!

Grandpas Secret

My grandfather passed away several years ago. He was extremely intelligent and hard working, which is why when he was diagnosed with Alzheimers it was a big hit to us all. He was the one that got me into guns, like all good grandfathers do. Needless to say, when he passed, his estate had to be cleaned out and managed. An estate sale was organized and items were displayed for sale. The man had an ungodly collection of tools, books, farming equipment and many other things. As I was helping before the sale began, I realized that there was a book on a stack of others that shouldn’t have been there, and nobody realized what it was.

Years ago he had shown me an old welding textbook from when he was an industrial arts teacher. He had carved out each individual page by hand to fit this .32 pistol in. Apparently this old little pistol was part of a payment he received years ago for helping out a local farmer by repairing his oil well.

Fortunately for me, I was gifted this by my family members. Evidently he never told anyone about this one. It is absolutely nothing special, but I will hold on to it for the remainder of my days. Im very sentimental and enjoy all the memories it brings back about him every time I open his book. Im extremely glad he shared this “secret” with me all those years ago, knowing I would think it was so cool.

Colt 6721

Picked up this mint Colt 6721. Has the appropriate roll marks for the time period, “military and law enforcement”. Unfired condition with very nice stamps on the HBAR barrel. Also came with the original paperwork and hardware still in the bag.

Old Friends

Colt Government Classic and a Mauser Parabellum.

Two timeless designs, manufactured to support nothing but awe and nostalgia. Both great shooters.

Post War Auction Pickup

Found this guy on an online auction. Produced in 1972 by Mauser in Germany. Apparently the original prints and tooling came from a an old Swiss factory. The deal was struck by Interarms with Mauser to manufacture these for the commercial market. They were imported into the United States with the model name “Mauser Parabellum”. Supposedly manufactured in small numbers into the early 90s, but ultimately shut down due to lack of sales overall. You can find several variations occasionally on auction sights. Some are more collectible, some even have bull barrels. Regardless, I think she looks pretty and makes a great shooter.

My 3-Screw Startup Collection

These are my recently acquired 3-Screw Ruger single action revolvers. Both are unconverted and in what I consider pretty good shape. After obtaining the first Blackhawk in a trade, they have become my newest and current obsession. There is a lot of information out there and so many configurations. It definitely keeps me occupied and interested when I have some down time.

For the bot,

Pictured here is a 1971 Ruger “Super Single Six” with a 5 1/2” barrel. This pick up had the original matching box, paperwork, and .22 WMR conversion Cylinder. It also came with an “EL PASO” holster that bares a brass Ruger emblem on the front.

The second revolver is a 1972 Ruger Blackhawk, chambered in .357 Magnum. This is also unconverted and in its original condition. While it did not come with the original box and paperwork, it did include the matching “Old Model” 9mm conversion cylinder.

I am now on the hunt for a 3-Screw Super Blackhawk to round out the basic collection. These classic revolvers have me hooked, and is a nice change of pace compared to firearms that are more common in today’s world.

Value of Old Model Super Six?

I have an opportunity to buy the pictured Ruger super six. It is an unconverted 3 screw. The serial number apparently dates it to 1971. It seems to be in great condition and comes with the original box, paperwork and matching .22 WMR cylinder. I have limited knowledge of the collectibility of these things and was curious to know if anyone that was much more knowledgeable on the topic could give me a rough estimate on the value. I am very interested in making the purchase but I do not want to spend too much if the opportunity is grossly over the price being asked.
