Malaga Mending Part 2

Link to part 1

I also do want to apologise for part one. For putting images in the comment section instead of on the post. I also think it was a bit rushed in general. I’ve put images at the top of the post this time due to potential spoilers if you wanted to look at an image at the bottom.

Summer transfer window:

We manage to recruit one more player alongside our Sevilla loanee Manu Bueno, who is Iñigo Cordoba[1] from Burgos for £800k. We’ve decided to make our transfer policy Spanish nationality only until we gain promotion. After that, we can sign two non-Spanish players per season( one from EU and one anywhere ). We’ll be able to sign more non-Spanish players following higher table finishes but we’ll get into that once necessary.

First half of the season
We have a bit of a crisis with the stadium though. You’d think a 30k capacity stadium would be enough for a 2nd tier side but no, we sell 26k season tickets. To make things worse, it’s council owned. I ask board for expansion but I’ve only just gotten here so they reject us.

August starts brilliantly for us. After our games in the introduction where we lost 3-0 to Almeria and a 4-1 win over Leganes, we manage to draw one and win two games and gain manager of the month [2]. Forget playoffs or mid table, we might get automatic promotion.
September is good too with 2W-2L-1D. October hits badly though with us losing 4 of our next 5 games such as Racing Santander, Cordoba and Valladolid.
We turn around however and win 5-3 in an 8 goal haul of Deportivo La Coruña. Dissapointingly, we draw 3-3 with bottom of the table F.C Andorra. But hey, we’ve got more neutrals who are no longer neutral. We have a tactical change in which Manu Bueno plays as DM OoP. Two more wins in December puts our squad 7th in the table.

Spanish Cup-
We start of the Spanish Cup with a win to 4th tier Reus 3-1 thanks to our 3 goal corers.
Unfortunately, a Dani Sanchez own goal sends up crashing out of the cup against 3rd tier fellow Andalusian side Algeciras.

Where we currently are:
We are 7th in the table and I would say we should shout out our top scorer Chupete whose goals have sent us forward up the table. Our next Isco, Dani Lorenzo has also netted high G/A and significantly helped us.

We are finishing at Dec 19th within a large offseason where won’t play a (competitive) game til Jan 19th.

We’ll have the Jan transfer window and we’ll finish the season within the next one or two series so stay put.

But even though it isn’t January, we make an offer for a center-back of the future from local side Antequera, who we’ll introduce later.

Thank you for reading and don’t forget to upvote and comment for more.

I hope we can mend Malaga to the top flight and beyond.

I like that the World Cup 2026 final will have a half-time show.

For context, I am British and a football fan. I don’t get why everyone is so concerned with the idea of a halftime show. In my view, it will give something to look forward to for halftime.

The game will become too Americanised. And? This is one aspect that I actually like. Do you guys just hear inspired from America and dislike it because you want to be different?

It will drive too many plastic fans. I’m sorry but if you’re spending that much money( obviously I don’t like the ridiculous ticket prices for the World Cup ) and only watch the performers then you can waste your money.

It doesn’t need it. Just because something isn’t fundamentally necessary doesn’t mean it shouldn’t happen. They don’t need a big stadium. They could use a 1,000 seater stadium and it would still technically host a football game. But that would be a bad idea.

Of course, I think they should be reserved for big moments like The World Cup, The Euros and maybe the UEFA Champions League final.

There’s multiple halftime show performers so I’m sure there’s something for everyone.

Also, no one is forcing you to watch it. If you don’t like it turn your tv off for half time. But don’t take this away from people who actually want it.

Idk I just think everyone is complaining too much. This can only add, not take away. I say this as a quite big football fan from the UK so I’m not a plastic American.

Well, here we go. My new series. Malaga Mending.
I’m rebuilding Malaga from the Malagueño Mid-Table Mediocrity to the top of the top flight. We are rebuilding a fallen giant.

I apologise for the images being at the bottom for the reason that on Reddit mobile you can’t put multiple image spots in different places and it was a faff to getting them on PC. I suggest going down and looking at the images at the bottom as you read. I will see if I can fix this.

Tactics:
This is probably one of if not the most important aspects in Football Manager and this save. I went for a unique fluid-counter attack 4-3-3 in possession to a 3-4-3 out of possession. The instructions in possession[1] and out of possession[2] are also important as they encourage quick snd short build up play but a through ball through the defence can change everything.

Team:
The team is crucial. We have some players that can suit unique tactical roles.
Dani Lorenzo[3] is an advanced playmaker who plays the Isco role of the team, if you like.
Izan Merino [4] is a transition DM/ball playing center-back who is only 19.
Chopete[5] is our most expensive player and a striker who should score many goals this season.
The rest of the players in the team [6] is also worth checking out

Transfers/loans
We only have one player who we have signed who is a loan from Sevilla, Manu Bueno [7]. We had failed attempts for some players, including Cristian Tello who said he had too high wage demands before even entering negotiations and Cesar De La Hoz. We already had Dotor in our club. It’s also worth noting that until we gain promotion our transfer policy is Spanish only.

First bit of the season
We had 3 pre-season games, of which we drew two and lost 1 which was against our affiliates Cordoba. We started off poorly with a 3-0 loss to Almeria[8]It isn’t as bad as it sounds though as they’re one of the favourites for the title and the scoreline didn’t do us justice. However, we triumphed over Leganes 4-1 with Chopete netting a brace and an 18 y/o super sub ( Ochoa ).

That’s the introduction. Let me know if you want more of this by upvoting and/or commenting down below. I hope I can make a series which you guys will love using Juega Bonita and Spanish players and hopefully take this club from a fallen giant to a risen one.

Edit: Sorry I forgot to add images.
