Hi, just had some questions from somebody who is interested in RIT and had some questions regarding the school. Before I ask any questions, just to let you know I’m looking into majoring in something engineering related (possibly software) and possibly a minor in game design/ somthing related to that. my current class schedule also has me duel enrollment taking college courses for engineering (specifically mechanical engineering through UMaine Orono), I’m also in vocational classes for engineering and currently live in midcoast maine

1: how is the location?
I have heard a lot about Rochester in general, but I come from an area where a city is anyplace that has more then 5000 people and has a shopping district, with Portland being the largest city I have within an hour. I have also never been to upstate New York before, but have heard that the weather is very similar to maines and the snow you guys get is actually heavier, which was a surprise.

2: are there any classes to avoid/ does the school have a good engineering and/or game design program?
The thing I have heard most of RIT (apart from mostly men and mostly nerds) is that it’s mainly engineering focused, which is something I’m interested in, so do any of you have any first hand advice/suggestions on engineering at RIT?

3: “the death rates”
I saw this mentioned in a post from like two years ago, but genuinely couldn’t find shit, any idea what this could possibly mean?
