Pieces that feel like RPG standard-enemy battle themes?

Greetings all. I'm a game developer that likes classical music and wants to make a game with a soundtrack of classical pieces, and I'm in a bit of a pickle. All of the pieces I've heard and want to include in my game feel like either overworld themes (music you hear outside of battle), cutscene themes, or boss battle themes. Whenever I listen to one that sounds intense enough for a battle, it always feels like a boss battle one, and I can even see the boss battle forming in my mind. ^^;

What pieces do you guys recommend? It's gotta be intense but not too intense, exciting, but not climactic.

Note: Even if something from Carnival of the Animals fits, all of those are reserved for something specific and spoilery.

"Magic system"? I know one, and they're really good at it

In many settings and systems, one person can do one magic thing, barring certain exceptions. Benders can only bend one element, mistings can only burn one metal, each my hero academia only has one quirk, et cetera.

But, say, what if the magic system acknowledged the possibility of multiple persons in one body? More people per people, so to say? It would be interesting, and I think would make for interesting storytelling, if magic interacted with the existing real-world phenomena of multiple identities within one body, without that in and of itself being a supernatural thing.

You know what, I'm going to firstdraft a system that acknowledges systems right now.

# Chroma

What color is your soul?

Each soul has a particular hue. Every memory, every instinct, every ounce of your personality, every default way of thinking and living that makes you uniquely you textures your soul, and like how light is colored by bouncing off a peacock feather, so too is eidos structurally colored by a soul.

A chromagus (plural chromagi) takes the eidos bouncing off their soul and combines it with a similar color in the real world to do magic; this temporarily drains the color from the object. Fused into an unstable thing called Chroma, the chromagus can then wield it to varying effects. One whose soul is red, for example, would drain red-ness from red thinfs things around them that they can see to use their magic. It's for this reason that chromagi often wear clothing or accessories dyed their color; those that do outnumber those that don't 2-3 to 1.

[Todo: determine how the soul's color affects the kind of magic available. Red, Green, and Blue each do different things from a first principles level, combinations combine them.] As a chromagus learns and gets used to magic, they get used to doing things a certain way, and thus they develop their own way of using magic.

The thing is, the color of a soul isn't immutable. If something happens that changes who the person is, changes the way they think or react to the world, the soul's color changes. Sometimes the soul changes drastically, often as a result of trauma.

And sometimes the soul gets a little complex, in the context of becoming or realizing that a chromagus has a headmate now.

Depending on who you ask, they could either say that "this body has multiple souls" or "my soul has many colors". Either way, different system members with different personalities have access to different colors, and in the case of multiple chromagi, have access to different magic.

And when multiple are fronting together and moving in harmony, their magic can work together, much like two chromagi in different bodies.

Take the new prodigy on the block, Callum. Callum's soul is green, and specializes in forming barriers and surfaces, though that's not all he uses it for. But Callum shares a body with a red soul whom he calls Cee, and Cee almost exclusively uses her Chroma for fire and heat. However, it has been observed that both can front together, and when that happens, the two can use a potent combination of both of their specialties that they refer to as "The Oven".

What do you guys think about how one power-one user magic systems behave around, well, systems? Does this present any challenges or opportunities in any system you have created?
