The SF dating scene: What makes our city such a unique, beautiful hub for diverse couples?

One thing I absolutely love about San Francisco is seeing how seamlessly diverse the dating scene is compared to other major cities I’ve lived in.

Anecdotally, I see a huge representation of interracial relationships, specifically White women with Black men, and White men with Asian women. I actually find this especially fascinating given the actual demographic breakdown of the city, such as our relatively small Black population.

What is it about the Bay Area’s culture, history, or dating demographics that creates this specific landscape? I’d love to hear your thoughts on how our local dating pools interact to create this dynamic.

People in SF don’t appreciate the atmosphere of SoMa enough

I’m tired of everybody romanticizing the architecture and views and “culture” (really?) of the Marina, North Beach, Mission Bay, it’s the same story every time.

I live in SoMa and it gets a bad rep, mainly because people think it’s not as pretty or as vibrant as the other areas of SF. This is literally the view outside my window, there’s always something happening, trees on the sidewalks, tons of interesting storefronts and architecture and I’m done with everyone ignoring SoMa’s beauty. Stop hating from outside, I guarantee you if you spend one full day exploring you’ll leave with a greater appreciation.

Coffee bars

Back in the old days, great and improvised thinkers alike would gather not only at bars but also coffee houses. They would banter, but instead of busting each other's chops over a pint or getting turnt with a homie, they'd drone on and on about things that get people at a bar to slowly back away from you. Are there still places today where the drink of choice isn't alcohol but caffeine, where strangers idle and chat about the mysteries of life?

What is it in my apartment shower in Lisbon

I recently arrived at my apartment in Lisbon and no one in my family can figure out what this is. I originally thought it could be a toilet but the bathroom already has a toilet and there's no system to get things out of the space, so any piss would just get stuck in there. Any thoughts?
