Let go from engineering job; Finally starting YouTube channel

As the title suggests, I lost my career engineering job yesterday to what I deem is bad management. I am currently at a crossroads as I had already talked with my wife this year about having a career shift to be more creative and follow my passion for astronomy. This might just be the push off the cliff I need.

While I continue looking for stable income I will be uploading videos related to astronomy to my channel from research papers / news I find relevant and interesting. I am learning blender to make my own animations. I will also do my own video editing and voice overs. I am trying to make this as high quality and accurate as possible.

If anyone would like to support me on this journey it would be really helpful to boost my morale and keep me going. Feel free to critique and suggest improvements!

Where to watch the eclipse!

Hey all, I've had my iceland eclipse vacation planned for years now and almost all the dominoes are in place. The only thing missing is where I want to be during the ACTUAL ECLIPSE!

I have decided not to go with sky/blue lagoons as theyre crazy expensive even a year ago, and will definitely be avoiding the west fjords due to the concert.

Does anyone have any areas with great views or activities they know will be happening? I have been planning on going to the keflavik shores and taking pictures off the coast. But am really looking for options.

Thank ya'll!

Mapping Planetary position in 900 years

Hey all, as the title suggests I'm looking for find the positions that the planets would be in in the years 2970-3000 relative to each other.

I have a basis of keplers laws and planetary motion but I'm unsure of how to extend this out so far in time as I know there are discrepancies and such. Are there any good websites/applications that calculate this and for bonus points. If I was insane enough to try to do this by hand how would I start?

This is for a sci-fi story in writing where interplanetary travel is present but isn't quick and I will need to determine the best time of (earth relative) for traveling between the planets.

Thank you all for any advice or help!

27 [M4F] San Antonio, TX / Online | Wanting a genuine connection to share passions and hobbies.

Hi everyone, I find that bullet points make things easier to read, so here’s a little bit about me:

Relationship Structure:

  • I’m in a poly marriage and date seperately. I’m currently not seeing anyone else, but I’m very much looking for someone to build a genuine, fun connection with.
  • We practice a "Kitchen Table" dynamic, so I’d love to eventually have you over for board games or a cozy online movie night.

About Me:

  • I’m 5’11”, medium build, with a beard and bald. I’ve also been on a diet recently and am super proud to have lost 30 lbs!
  • I work from home, so I spend a good amount of time at my desk, but I’m always eager for a reason to get outside.
  • I've got a lot of hobbies including photography, astrophotography, reading, hiking, video games, video editing, D&D, and in general just trying new things
  • I am a very big talker so a lot of texting and activities that allow conversations are my favorite.

If you’d like to connect, DM me what you favorite planet is and I will give you the best fact I know for it!

Airbnb Canceled during Eclipse

Hey y'all,

The title says it all, I had an Airbnb host cancel on me that I booked last year for Aug 12-14 the days of the eclipse. I got a really good price of 700$ for 2 nights. Now there is almost nothing left and what is left is 1800$+. Does anyone have any suggestions or places they know about that I can book near Reykjavik? I can't really afford to add another 1k onto my trip.
