Scammer on fpvmarket

I did a post regarding me wanting to buy analog Skyzone goggles and I received few offers and one which was really enticing and it was a scam from u/assassininthedark1. They didn't want to use Paypal, nor share his ID but was using a bank account For Bridge Building (registered in Luxembourg IBAN starting with LU384) which is a stablecoin exchange (https://www.bridge.xyz/), whereas they told me it was a building company whom they was CEO of!

It seems that it's not the first time they're scamming on Reddit :

I have all the screenshosts available for the moderation team if needed (I've put a Trade flair so I'm trading them for nothing for the mods ;). And I'm reporting the bank account to the exchange (but I'm not holding my breath).

Stay safe people and don't forget to enable persistent messaging at the beginning of an exchange to keep proof (they have started to delete their messages up to the time I activated that option) and to check a username against the Universal Scammer List!

And I'm still searching for goggles so do not hesitate to contact me (and if you're a scammer too, you can contact me but be more sophisticated please!).

[Fully lost] Hard drive (1997 documentary)

I'm looking after a rare documentary from 1997 about early cyber activities. The name of the documentary is "Hard Drive" which complicates the search but you can see its IMDB entry right there : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0230275/

There's a quote from Ellen Ullman which is "More and more people stay with the machine, all night" that is from this documentary and can be heard in the Atomised song of the album Soulhack by Forss (around the 1:45 mark).

(Notice for Event Horizon fans : there's some excerpt of dialogs of Captain Miller's speech in the Characteristics song of the same album, around the 1:50 mark)

EDIT: 10 years old Reddit user here, but I seldom post so my karma was under 250 (220) some days ago when I initially wanted to post this. Maybe changing the rules for posting here by taking into account (no pun intended) the age of an account could be worth it.

[EU] [WTB] Skyzone SKY04O or SKY04X goggles

It's all in the tile, I'm located in the EU and I'd like to buy a pair of compact FPV goggles at a sensible price, so either a SKY04O or a SKY04X. If you are in the EU and are selling a HD0 G2 goggles let me know.

USB OTG cable for an old MP3 player to a modern phone

I need to be able to hookup an old MP3 player which has a female Mini-USB port, to a modern(ish) phone that has a USB-C female port, in order to exchange files between the two. I'd like that to be contained in one short (<10cm) cable only and not an adapter + cable.

I bought a USB-C male to Mini-USB male cable on Aliexpress but the phone isn't seeing the MP3 player (it should be seen as a mass storage device, as any USB key I can hookup and see on my phone. The MP3 player is charging though, so at least the cable provides power, but not data.

It seems that the cable I bought isn't OTG and I want to know where (if) I can find one. The other solution would be to DIY one such a cable but usually solderable USB connectors are kind of bulky and I'm not sure about the pinout of such a cable (just reverse the D+ and D- wires?)

▲ 5 r/VITURE

EDIT: I missed a 'a' in the title (Best-->Beast). Oh well!

A colleague of mine made me try for the first time some AR glasses today (Viture Pro) and was amazed that a company finally did what was missing to me me in the field, some quality goggles (aluminium) without any fuss : no battery, no app needed, just plain old usb-C (Display port or hdmi would have been awesome but usb-C is the next best thing and is needed for power I guess). The FOV was quite small compared to some VR headset I tested but I guess (wrongly?) it's a limitation of AR glasses.

Now I'm sold on the concept and I'm ready to pull the trigger on some Viture glasses! I see that only the Viture Beast has a better FOV than the pro I've tried and also metal construction, but sadly they come with a camera (behind a sticker still, but it's there and wired) and a microphone which I find intrusive (as no display I have at home or at work have these addons).

My questions :

- (To Viture people) Is there any The Beast SKU available or coming where both the camera and the microphone are absent (bonus point if it's cheaper) for privacy-concious people like me? If not is there any teartown tutorial out there that shows how to remove them?

- If not, does anyone here have recommandations on alternative (1080p battery-less goggles which don't require an app and use a standard cable (DP, HDMI or USB-C) and don't have a camera and mic) from other brands? It could be VR Goggles as long as it's not bulky (compact FPV drones Goggles for example).

Thanks!
