Found this lovely pin for $1. I assume its rolled gold or plate with what appears to be garnets. The makers mark is a capital G.
Found this for $1 at a charity store. My husband is convinced it must be fake because it was donated but he wanted a good watch for the office.
The thrift store had covered all the labels on the grey bowls. I have never herd of these.
Pulled the tag to buy this hand carved double bird 4.5 foot statue $99.99 and I had 25% off coupon. Texted a good friend to see if she wanted it for her beach room. She declined so the birds will live on my back porch. Had another person come in 10 minutes later and try to force me to hand over the tag, then she went to argue with the goodwill staff about the price of the wood fish they also had just put out. The employees refused to give her a discount so the lady came back to harass me while I was taking care of my baby and trying to get through the checkout line. She followed me and watched me pay saying I could always change my mind. I think the goodwill employees were very happy to load it into my car instead of hers.
They need names
A crystal girlie must have donated her prizes. There was so much cottage core. $15 for the pair
Found it for $8. It looks handmade and will be a great jewelry box. It seems shaker style to me.
Compote:
2lb strawberries rough chopped
Blackberries- 1.5 packages
1 lemon - squeeze juice into the bowl and zest all of it
Sugar - I used brown sugar because I had some and ended up adding 2 cups slowly to get the flavor I wanted
Simmer on medium heat stirring occasionally until desired thickness- when it stays on the spoon as a thicker layer for a moment before slowly gliding off. I mashed the berries half way through.
The cupcakes were a general white cake recipe -king arthur flour has a good one- and I had extra so I made a six inch round cake. I scooped out the cupcake centers with a melon baller and spooned in some compote. I sliced the cake in half, layered compote, then dumped the rest over it as a glaze. It tasted of summer perfection.
Found her at my local creative reuse store. I was told she is supposed to work but could use a cleaning and oiling
It was $14.59! My husband is not nearly as enthusiastic as I am
I also need to dust it thoroughly without harming the paint and the dust seems to be caught in the wood grain. Suggestions for cleaning are welcome.
