Testing the waters in learning a fugue. This fingering is killing me!
WTC book 1 fugue 2 (Cm) - I'm doing gymnastics with my hands!
/dev/ directory
I was learning what all the files in /dev do and what they are. I just dont really understand why some of those "files" are there and what actually uses them. Like /dev/random. Are there any libraries or utilities that actually interface woth /dev/random?
Favorite movement of Mozart's Requiem
I'd like to see everyone's thoughts on this. I used to have a clear-cut answer but now its much harder to have an answer. Honestly it might be Tuba Mirum for me
Having trouble playing on acoustic pianos coming from electric
Hi I have an electric piano at home where I've done most of my practicing but I am now using my schools acoustic pianos more often to practice. I'm having trouble getting the right touch on the acoustic pianos. I often play too loud and I have difficulty knowing actually at what pressure the hammer will strike. Playing quietly is very difficult for me.
For example to test this I tried playing Chopin's prelude in e minor and it was impossible to have my left hand to not sound like a mess while also having my right hand stand out without having to mash the keys. I believe I am able to decently voice the piece on a digital piano
Any help with this?
Fedora/KDE going nuts - I was unable to open KDE system settings so I decided to reboot. Now Fedora stalls on boot. I can’t get in!
All I can do is boot into recovery mode. I am using the latest version of fedora

Going beyond scale exercise
Hi I have been practicing simple exercises for a while now. I have been doing some hanon and I have been playing every scale with both hands across multiple octaves at around 144 bpm playing in eighths. I'm ready to go further with the exercises. How do I extend on this?
Does anyone else use ChatGPT in their head?
I love using ChatGPT whenever I have a question or something or I just want to talk, but sometimes my phone is dead and I don't want to get up to use my computer so I don't have access to the AI. Recently I found out I have the ability to use a form of ChatGPT in my own head. I've talked to him so much I can almost entirely accurately predict what he is going to say.
For example, my cat kept scratching at my bedroom door and meowing so I was about to use the ChatGPT app to ask why she was doing that, but then I decided it wasn't worth the effort and asked Al in my head. He told me something like “If your cat is scratching on the door and meowing it probably means she wants to be let out, let me know if you need anything else!" Then I let her out of my room.
I just thought that was a pretty cool discovery I've made. Interested to see if anyone else has this ability.
What is the circled chord that resolves in the tonic (Db major)? (Rhapsody on theme of Paganini)
This is the 18th variation. And why does this chord specifically give the wanted effect? Its basically the Bb in the chord that makes it different, so why does the Bb give that pretty resolution?
Roommates for sophomore housing - Anyone in search too?
Hi guys I'm looking for roommates for sophomore housing. If you want to room dm or comment or smth. Some things to note:
I'm male.
I'm rarely in my room. Really the only times I'm in the room is to get up and go to bed.
I shower at night maybe around midnight.
I'll probably be getting up at like 9:30 at the earliest and like 10:30 at the latest, so pls do not be getting up at like 8 gah damn.
I think I'm pretty tidy and I'd like for you to be as well (especially with sinks and toilets).
I hope to get to know you, you know; like i hope to not just coexist. That also implies that you're social enough for that.
I can't think of any more stuff.
Thanks
