UNMH employees, where do you park?

I got assigned a lot that is ridiculously far away to walk from at 5:30 in the morning and I paid $600 for this shit. Even if there is a shuttle, I still need to wake up earlier to get on time. Is anyone parking at the hospital parking deck and hoping they don’t get in trouble?

Should I give gel a break?

My nails have been getting weaker and weaker and im leaning towards giving gel a break. My nails were super strong before I started getting gel back in February. Is this enough damage to stop manicures for a little bit or is this considered normal?

Moving to a healthcare dessert. Is it better to see a resident or an NP/PA?

I scheduled an appointment for both of my daughters at our new state but the only people who could see them relatively soon was either a resident or an NP or PA. I picked the resident.

I was informed that the resident is a second year resident and I said that was ok but I wanted to know if that resident will be supervised in any way by an attending physician. I know they’re supervised in the hospital but I’m not sure how it works in a clinic setting. Thank you!

Is this reaction normal?

Got lasered this morning. My settings are 20 on the Alex and it was extremely painful. My entire body is covered in these laser marks and everything hurts.

ATL -> ABQ. Looking for experiences using Goliath, Wayfinder, or Graham Family Auto

Hi! I will move from atl to abq at the end of the month and I'm looking for a reputable auto transport company for a Subaru ascent. I've spent a few hours on this sub and after reading many posts I think I've narrowed it down to Goliath, Wayfinder, or Graham Family Auto. I've never had my car transported across the country but I have read some horror stories already so I'm nervous. I'd greatly appreciate any advice, input, or any other suggestions. Thank you!

4 year old won’t stop pooping himself - HELP!!!!

My 4 year old was fully potty trained but seemed to have regressed after we had his baby brother a few months ago. He started by peeing himself sometimes, especially overnight, so we put him back in pull ups.

Everything seemed to be going better because he seemed to recognize his body needing to pee again and even though he still has accidents, he seems to be doing (slightly) better.

However, recently he’s been shitting himself every single night. He’ll poop during the day in the potty like normal and since this started happening we ask him if he needs to poop right before bed and he says no. 5 minutes later he will call us in because he pooped in his pull up.

We’ve tried asking why he does it and he says stuff like “I was playing” and then he’ll apologize and said he’ll try again but he doesn’t show any remorse or anything. We never shame him. We’ll have him clean it up and wipe himself and tell him that poop goes in the potty but it’s not working. I’m desperate at this point and don’t know what to do. Any advice would be helpful, thank you.

Any experiences with the following daycares?

My family and I are moving to Albuquerque next month and the following daycares are on our list:

- NMELA on Eubank
- La Petite on Anaheim

We are on a bunch of waitlists but these seem like the most realistic options for right now. I’m having trouble deciding which one to pick so any advice or input would be greatly appreciated

What is it like living in Sandia Heights, NM?

My family and I will be moving here in a few months! My husband and I work in science/medicine and we are both pretty introverted. We have two small children and we all have being outdoors and seeing and learning about wildlife. We don’t like big cities and traffic. I think this area checks all of our boxes!

Too sad to run?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been going through a really hard time and running has been almost impossible. I was running half marathon distances without any issues last year and then I got pregnant. I was so sick during my pregnancy and I wasn’t able to work out. I gave birth a few months ago and running has been really hard. I started getting better at it but then I lost my job. I was supposed to do my run today and I couldn’t. The weather has been super gloomy and I’m just too sad. Instead of running I’ve been walking and doing other types of workouts but I can’t run.

I’d appreciate any advice! I feel like a failure and I feel lazy. Has anyone gone through something similar?

Daycares with safe sleep practices?

My husband and I are looking into moving to Albuquerque in the next few months. We will probably settle down somewhere near Sandia Heights and wanted to see if there are any daycares that practice safe sleep. I have pretty bad anxiety and after working in healthcare I value safe sleep so I want to make sure my baby will be safe while I'm at work. I have researched this quite a bit on this sub but any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Edit: bright minds seems like our preferred spot so far but they don’t have many reviews on google. These are the daycares we have in mind:

- serendipity
- a child’s garden
- bright minds
- UNM children’s campus
- children’s academy
