My thoughts on Affirmations, Positive Thinking and what I do Instead.

From my personal experience, affirmations haven’t worked.

If you tell yourself one belief,
while subconsciously believing another,
It creates cognitive dissonance.

Your mind can tell that you are lying to yourself.

The other thing that I have found is that they are generic. They are not specific to YOU and your own limiting beliefs and subconscious programs.

Lastly, they are said out loud and science has shown that handwriting is the most effective at rewiring and strengthening new neural pathways in the brain.

The same thing applies to positive thinking.

You tell yourself one belief while subconsciously thinking another. Once again, creating cognitive dissonance.

Positive thinking is basically trying to course correct after the subconscious program already took place, and now you are trying to change your reaction after it already happened.

Basically, changing the conscious thought rather than the subconscious program that created that thought in the first place!

You’ll just get caught in this trap of constantly correcting your reaction instead of getting to the actual root of what created that thought in the first place.

The method that I found best for getting to the subconscious and actually create long term lasting change is Frequency Training.

Frequency being the power of your subconscious foundation that sets your nervous system. It is composed of your Identity, Beliefs and Intentions and all happens before a conscious thought even arises.

The way Frequency Training works:

First - You must identity what your subconscious beliefs are.

You can do a deep self reflection process and dig them up yourself. I found the best way to do this is to journal and look at all my results in my life and then basically reverse engineer it. However it is important that is your subconscious beliefs and not your conscious thoughts. Typically the beliefs that sting to admit and are a hard truth to swallow. But other ones work as well. The key is that they are specific to you.

If you need help discovering them, I use this training system called Encoded Ai that basically guides me through self reflection progress and tells me what my top subconscious programs are and then gives me a personalized map on how to rewire them by giving me new empowering beliefs about myself and the world and what I believe is possible.

Second - You handwrite the same empowering beliefs about yourself, the world and what is possible, every single morning. The key is REPETITION!! The new neural pathway will take about 30 days to become the default but you’ll notice a shift within the first 3-7 days. Feeling more calm, clear and finding yourself naturally taking different actions.

No willpower needed.
You don’t need to Feel the statements you are writing. You just need to stick with it.
The statements need to be personalized to you.
Handwriting strengthens new neuropathways the best.

Your thoughts create your feelings.
Your feelings drive your actions.
Your actions create results.

If you want different results in life, The highest leverage place to start is your thoughts.

What if getting “triggered” was viewed as a great thing?

(I want to preface this by saying this is best if your Anxiety is created mentally from your own thoughts.)

Yes, getting triggered can feel uncomfortable.

However it is a very clear signal of what you still need to overcome.

It's like a signal in a car going off.

You can choose to view it as a bad thing.

And try to..

Run from it.
Avoid it.
Cope with it.
Numb the pain.
Hide.
Erase the memory.

OR

You can view it as an Opportunity.

A sign.
A signal.
An opportunity for growth and expansion!
And say THANK YOU! (Internally)

THANK YOU for showing me where I have an opportunity for growth.

Then, don't stop there.

Once you have awareness of your trigger, REWIRE IT!!

Find out what belief it is triggered in you,

"I'm not enough"

"I knew I wasn't made to do this."

“I’ll forever be lonely.”

And then rewrite the belief into a new empowering one!!

This mindset shift has helped me so much.

I feel a greater sense of calmness and ease.

Knowing that all these things are happening FOR me, not to me.

I feel UNSTOPPABLE!

I am taking control over my mind before my mind takes control over me.

I replaced my morning doom scroll with training my frequency

I used to wake up and instantly grab my phone and scroll for the first 20-30 mins of the day.

I then started telling myself that “I am someone who jumps out of bed in the morning” and I swear the next day, that thought was instantly the first thought when my eyes opened. Then I had a choice, so I instantly jumped out to reinforce this new belief I’m training.

This one is simple, but basically I take that same principle but handwrite my beliefs rather than just saying it.

You want to write down whatever beliefs are basically the opposite of your limiting beliefs.

Think who do you want to become and what do you want to belief.

Then, you hand write those new empowering statement into your journal, every single day.

The exact same statements. Daily. For the next 30+ days.

The repetition of it and the fact that it’s handwritten and specific to you and your own beliefs is what’s most important. And the consistency of it.

Over time, as you do this, those thoughts will start to rise to your conscious and then you naturally start to take different actions in alignment with your new upgraded identity and beliefs.

No willpower or motivation needed.
Purely simple daily repetition.

Frequency is your Identity, Beliefs and Intentions. So I am training my Frequency.

The full routine takes me around 15-20 mins in the morning and it has bought me back so much mental capacity because I’m no longer doom scrolling or feeling any levels of anxiety or stress because of my new set of empowering beliefs that are being trained.

This is probably useful more so for people who’s anxiety is created by their own beliefs, those who need help sleeping and not ruminating at night, or even those who are in a misaligned job or relationship yet feel stuck. Or even those who are simply stressed and find themselves spiraling from their own thoughts they created. This is not medical advice.

One of the most impactful things that I have done to decrease my anxiety is to:

Step 1: Find the subconscious program that is creating the anxiety in the first place.

I do this through a self reflection exercise as well as through looking at all of my results in life and then reverse engineering it.

Your thoughts create your emotions
Your emotions drive your actions
Your actions create different results

So if you want different results in your life you first need to start by changing your thoughts.

Not your conscious thoughts.
The subconscious thoughts.
The deeply rooted ones that sting to admit to yourself and are tough to swallow.

Example:

You may consciously think you need to suffer in order to be successful.

But subconsciously you believe your worth equals how much you produce.

This is what leads to constant burnout and stress and feeling guilty when relaxing.

Others could be you feel that it’s not safe to speak up and express yourself or “this is just who I am.”

“I’m just an anxious person” “This is simply who I am.”

You are NOT! You are just FEELING anxious but you are NOT an anxious person.

You are not your reaction or emotion.

Step 2: Rewrite your subconscious belief / programs into something more empowering.

“I am a magnetic and creative being who radiates calmness and ease.”

“The more I express myself, the freeer I feel and the more impact I create.”

“My days are spacious and filled with things and people I love.”

“Everything always happens FOR me. I trust my intuition to guide me.”

The key is that the words need to both resonate with you and be specific and targeted to your own personal subconscious programs.

Generic ones won’t work.

They need to be specific to YOU and your own beliefs and resonate.

Step 3: Journal

Stream of consciousness writing. Getting all of your thoughts out of your head!! Whatever comes to mind. Get it out onto paper. Ideally write 3 pages. It typically starts to get really good by the 2nd page.

Step 4: Write your new Empowering Statements - DAILY!

Handwrite these new empowering statements every single day!! First thing when you wake up. Before interacting with the world.

I love lightning a candle and making it feel more like a ritual and I don’t touch or scroll on my phone until after I’m finished with my journaling routine.

This method is called Frequency Training. Frequency being your Identity, Beliefs and Intentions. So you are essentially upgrading your identity and your beliefs through repetition. Each day, getting the reps in just like you would at the gym if you were doing a bicep curl. Consistently is key.

The full thing may take 15 mins a day but honestly it buys me back hours if not days of my life!!

Rather than spiraling for days or second guessing myself or letting doubt creep in or anxiety creep in, I feel so much more calm and clear!!

It sets the day and carries into it!

When you have clarity and stability in who you are and what you believe, you are not triggered by others and you are able to easily filter your decisions and start to trust yourself and just automatically think more empowering things about yourself and the world. If makes it easy to say no or let go of anything that is misaligned.

Bonus: Night Time Routine

I also do a night time journal routine where I write out 3-5 things I’m appreciative for as well as give my subconscious a “homework task” to work on while I’m asleep. As well as set an intention for how I want to wake up in the morning.

The theory is that your subconscious is constantly running and typically you are ruminating on something going wrong or in the future and worrying and feeling anxious and then you wake up feeling that way.

So instead, give your mind something to work on!

“Give me clarity on … what my next step should be in my business”

“Show me what may be getting in my way”

Then, set an intention for how you want to wake up.

“When I wake up, I will feel ___ to ____”

When I wake up, I will feel calm and excited to work on my new passion project and call up a friend!

You will find yourself falling asleep faster and waking up feeling way more calm!!

The most practical and structured way to manifest that creates lasting change.

First, one must understand how a belief is created in the first place! A belief is created and formed by absorbing it from experiences in life, society, mentors, teachers, parents, social circles, media etc. These beliefs are then repeated and programmed into your mind over time. Your brain always finds evidence to support the beliefs you have. The repetition of it is what encodes them beneath conscious awareness as simply “the way things are.” These beliefs start to feel like facts.

TLDR: Beliefs are neural pathways encoded through repetition.

Which means -> If you want to change a belief / subconscious program, you need to change it the same way it was created.

THROUGH REPETITION!

First Step: Awareness

What are the beliefs / subconscious programs that you would like to rewire?

“If I let go, everything will fall apart”

“I must always be producing in order to feel worthy.” AKA Your sense of worth = output.

“I need permission / external validation before acting.”
AKA My judgement is unreliable.

“I must please others / stay silent to avoid conflict.”
AKA My truth will cost me my belonging.

“I’m just an anxious person” “This is just how I am.”
AKA I AM my reactivity.

Second Step: Rewire

Take your subconscious beliefs about yourself, the world and what you believe you are capable of and write new empowering statements.

“Delegation expands my impact.”

“All the answers I have are within me. I trust my intuition to guide me.”

“The more I speak my truth and express myself, the deeper the connection becomes and the more free I feel.”

“I am a visionary entrepreneur who operates from a place of calmness and empowers my team to rise.”

Step 3: Frequency Training

Frequency is the power of your subconscious foundation that sets your nervous system capacity. Your Frequency is composed of your Identity, Beliefs and Intentions. These all get expressed before any conscious thought arises.

Which is WHY it’s important to target your subconscious thoughts and not your conscious thoughts. And also why simply changing your conscious thought or changing your action doesn’t work because you’re operating from your old identity and belief systems.

So now that you have a new set of statements that cover your identity, beliefs and intentions, you are going to HAND-WRITE these. Daily. The same exact statements for the next 30+ days.

Now it comes full circle.

You are Encoding new Neural Pathways and through daily repetition, making these new identity, beliefs and intentions your default pathway.

Then, ask yourself, if I were to believe these new things about myself, what actions would I take.

Your actions will naturally start to align with this new identity to where you don’t even have to consciously think of it. They will rise to your conscious and then you will naturally find yourself taking different actions.

It happens fairly quick!

Within the first 3-7 days you’ll notice the first shifts happening. Feeling more calm, more clear, less mental noise, new aligned opportunities will show up etc.

Then, these actions simply reinforce your new identity beliefs and intentions that you are programming. So it creates this confirmation loop. Continuing to strengthen these new neural pathways.

In Short:

• Draw awareness of what subconscious programs and beliefs are holding you back
• Rewrite those into new empowering statements
• Train your Frequency (Identity, Beliefs, Intentions) through REPETITION! Daily handwriting. Writing the same exact statements every single day for the next 30+ days
• You’ll notice shifts within the first 3-7 days.
